EDIT: if you liked this video you should check out the Live Laugh Larry podcast on youtube or wherever you listen to podcasts 😆 Hey everyone! I just wanted to add a quick disclaimer right off the bat: I brought my phone with me to film (it's the camera I use for all videos) and for emergencies (dad has a heart condition and also life happens sometimes). My phone was on airplane mode with the wifi and bluetooth turned off the entire trip :) I hope you all have a great day and thanks for watching!! :)

Crying happy tears at this gentle loving video. My dad would’ve turned 61 yesterday had he survived his own traumas and his struggle with alcoholism. I don’t have a lot of safe memories with him, but one that makes me miss him is hiking up in Alaska together. I sometimes still feel him when it snows like that, how it did by the waterfall. I’m glad he’s at rest and can try again in a new life, but I also really miss having a father. This was really beautiful and healing to watch and I’m so happy for you two. May you have many many manyyy more happy trips together 🤍🥹

This makes me happy and sad at the same time. Sad because I don't really have a good relationship with my parents. We're so different and they caused me so much trauma by the way the raised me (or the lack of actually raising me) I cannot have a conversation that lasts longer than 5 minutes with them because we have absolutely nothing to say to each other. But I hope that I can build such a relationship with my own children so we can do such amazing things together one day.

I just discovered your channel, and just a few seconds into the video I'm already sobbing, realizing that I badly wanted to take my father for a trip, even for maybe a day or two to enjoy the nature and his company. Unfortunately he's frail and can't move around anymore due to old age. All his life, he worked hard to send to school not just us, his kids, but also our cousins from his side and my mother's. What a selfless man indeed. I love him so much.

Wanted to make a comment along the lines of “This made me cry. Thanks.” But apparently everybody cried a little. My dad was mostly absent in my childhood, I am happy I have any relationship with my dad and we will probably never have a relationship like this. And even if he never left, for us to have this kind of relationship would require of him to be a completely different person. But if he never left, I would never have my sibblings from both my parents further relationships. It is bittersweet how life has worked out and this makes me hopefull, once all of our collective parents will be gone, we the children will have each other in one form or another.
