Because swans glide gracefully atop the water's surface (all the work happens with their feet below but they always look like they are floating), I believe this stage was meant to convey that.

@LillianOglethorpe5 жыл бұрын
@@Wintercandle145 I agree that they are killing it better than anyone out there right now. Unfortunately, mere popularity is not enough to earn a Grammy nomination. Even popularity and good music isn't enough. I really, REALLY want them to be nominated, perform, kick a$$, and WIN at the Grammys, but to a great extent I'm actually glad it HASN'T happened yet. Hear me out... First I'll address the die-hard haters. We know they'll always be out there. We know they will always dismiss everything BTS does, achieves, and is awarded. So let's take them out of the equation. They are irrelevant. The rest of what I'll say is about validation for BTS and Army, gaining the attention of the locals and possibly drawing them in because of the spotlight, and shifting the opinions of on-the-fence naysayers. My concern over the last two years was that if they were nominated for anything other than the artwork of their album packaging, many locals and nay-sayers would blow it off. They could easily say, "Oh, they're throwing them a bone/acknowledging that they're popular/happen to be the Flavor of the Month." By not even being nominated the first couple of years, some of that goes away. If someone were to come along after a third year or more and say, "Oh, they were just going with the popular group to gain an audience, and they got away with it because the music is decent and they did break ground by being foreign artists," the easy come-back would be, "No. If that was the point they'd have done that a year ago/two years ago." Another element to my desire for 'good timing' is that I've wanted it to come at the right time with the 'right music'. By that I mean music that is challenging, complex, filled with deep meaning, great artistry, etc. etc. etc. I am NOT saying they didn't have good music and depth etc. with the last one. But I can't say they 'knocked it out of the park' either. They had good, solid stuff. But again, for those who are nay-sayers (not haters, they'll always dismiss it), they could pick it apart and say that much of it is 'just' radio-friendly, basic, etc. They don't have the background to know all the backstory and albums and epic creativity that let up to Persona. They would consider and evaluate it strictly as a stand-alone album. Because of that, I've wanted it to come at a time when an album had all the things I listed, and 'had them in SPADES'. I want them to walk away with that award with NO question that they crafted something that - even on its own - is groundbreaking, thought-provoking, challenging, artistic ... I want not just a "YEAH," but a "HELL YEAH." Based on what I've heard and seen so far ... I think this is that album. This is when they move beyond Kpop, beyond 'a foreign act', and simply become World Pop Artists, on the level with all the others. This is Their Time. (Just an opinion by a girl who wants to see them achieve every dream they ever have, and get the best of everything in this world.)

They ARE the black swans. They are the in the darkness of the shadow. This was the performance that would have been performed at the Grammys if they hadn't been snubbed. Sorry I get irritated when I think of how hard the gatekeepers work to suppress them in the US music market. Sending positive vibes to Mika 💜
@cyann4105 жыл бұрын
Cindy Lepo sorry, but the Grammy stage is not for introducing new music, it is for the nominated songs. So for them to perform it would have had to have been for a song off of their Persona album. The only reason they got to perform at all is because RM did a remix with Noz, and that song was nominated. Actually, since RM was the only member who sang on that, they let it slide to let all of BTS perform. So many people are hating on the Grammys, yet are not clear how the show is run. It has pretty strict standards they have to adhere to.

RM's dancing also stunned me here. Glad yall spotted him workin it out! He has become more and more comfortable in his body ever since he started doing pilates like, idk... a year ago? I think the fact that he wasn't as comfortable with himself before that really had an impact on his dancing, I think it stiffened him up and kind of freaked him out. He's WAY more confident in himself this year, many people have noticed it (and he's insinuated as much himself), and this performance in particular is a marked change in him. He's always been able to crush the choreo, of course, but until this performance, I had never seen him really... totally give himself over to it. He was never completely willing to do that. I don't know him personally, so I can't say this with any authority at all, _but_ I truly think that RM being able to feel better in his own body-in multiple ways-has allowed him to accept the idea of his body being able to create and merge with art. To fuse with music in the same way that lyrics do. He's always been VEEEERY cerebral in his art, not so much kinetic. It's great to see his energies beginning to balance themselves out.
@Nataliewms5 жыл бұрын
I noticed that with the previous tour - as it went along, his body rolls seemed smoother. Whether that is a mental or physical thing with him, I don’t know. There have been a lot of comments about Jin and RM’s dancing through the years, I think it’s because they stand out. But part of the reason they stand out is their height. I get the feeling that Korea doesn’t experience the variance in height that we do in the US (please correct me if I’m wrong!). And when you dance as part of a group size/height makes a difference, especially with ever changing formations. One person may need 5 steps, when it’s 4 for the other. This means one slows down, or they ‘scrunch’ their space, or the other speeds up, or...? But anytime you play with the speed of a step it’s going to mess with the overall look of the choreography across all the dancers AND make the dancer not match the timing of the music. A lot of times all you can do is ‘scrunch’ your steps, which makes you look tense. Sometimes these challenges can be met head-on in the choreography. I should go back and see if this is part of the change that’s going on. I have long wished they would get an instructor for Jin and RM that were able to help then translate their height when dancing. Of course, I could be totally off base! Maybe RM is just feeling more secure in himself overall. We’re seeing him sing on occasion now and he hasn’t done that in years. I’m guessing he was made fun of by some haters out there. It’s just sad how much affect haters have on people.

One night he had an accident and dislocated his shoulders, he was afraid he will be kick out of the company so he didn’t tell anyone after a few days the staff noticed he was hurt, he could bare the pain he told them what happened. Instead of being kicked out and scolded. Bighit told him they will pay his tuition and that they will wait till he recovers. Thus, the end of Suga’s bboy days. 💜💜💜

Concept-wise, they're out of this world. Super original and creative. They're level 99999999 in all aspects. And if course i have been waiting for that remix in the end. 😍😂

They weren't always used to perform on a big stage,they started so......small.....like.....they had nothing 💔and through hard-work and unconditionally love from us,ARMYs,they are now used to perform on a big stage,on a bigger scale but they still remain humble and show back love to ARMYs throughout their music 🥺 That's what keeps BTS×ARMY an unbreakable bond 🤧💜

to be honest, you're one of the few reactors out there who actually KNEW THE SONG enough to hum or sing a couple of lines. I've seen so many, waaay too many reactors who claim to be 'fans' or 'ARMY' but obviously doesn't even know the song or doesn't even listen to BTS off cam. Only pretends to like them for clout. I really appreciate how genuine you guys are. Like you keep watching BTS because you love their music, message and style and it shows. Thank you for being one of the rare reactors.. haha.

The Black Swan was originally a character from the ballet Swan Lake. They were literally on the Swan Lake. Also, it has a lot of elements from their own story. Jimin’s waterfall and woods (which Yoongi shares the woods), and Taehyung’s lake

terri rocklover How about you mind your own business instead of being the comment police and independently deciding the validity of my post. You don’t get to tell others what to say or who to say it about. I’m sorry someone was obviously unclear to you whilst defining your place in this fandom. You are a “fan” just like ALL the rest of us. Please go spend your time elsewhere and make better use of it in the future. I do not require for you to agree or like what I post. You’re comment was unnecessary, unneeded and served no purpose. Stay healthy.
@kellikel9995 жыл бұрын
So, you’re in my mentions essentially making the same comment twice but I only see one of them here. Interesting. Do better. Until I am malicious,anti or any other negative stereotype that seems to plague us as a fandom, why don’t you please just keep my name out of your mouth and resume scrolling.
@terrirocklover79575 жыл бұрын
@@kellikel999 lol deny it all you want but bringing up Jk was unnecessary, unneeded and served no purpose other than to create negativity on an otherwise nice comment. if you're going to make comments like that while pretending to be OT7, you should expect some reply. The floor was so creative. Brixslife, another You Tuber, was there at the taping of Black Swan performance, and he said it was underline with TV screens, covering with clear hard plastic cover. And he saw them pulled up the flooring after the performance. He was amazed the flooring looked like a pond with water. I don’t know if I described what he said accurate, please check his channel for clarity. .The whole thing was epic. BTS is creatively epic. I loved the performance, waiting for more from the album.. The SNL stage was a REALLY tight fit.
@Nataliewms5 жыл бұрын
And Jingle Ball. It was the width of a normal stage, but the depth...? I’d say it was just the apron of it because they were dancing in front of everyone else’s setup (separated by those temporary walls). I freaked when I saw how little space they had. They were also adding Halsey with that performance. So while they have dancing that number hundreds of times, they had only performed it with her a couple other times - AND they didn’t have much practice time before this performance to work it all out. They ARE professionals & adapt to what they are given, I just wish they weren’t shortchanged (including stage real estate!) so much!

Despite the tight space, they performed beautifully and was AMAZING!! Big Hit really brought in their gear this time because it's their very first official performance of this song and also they liked James Corden. They are very comfortable with him. They never went this far in any of the other shows in America as far as I know. ARMY was surprised and ecstatic at the same time. I am so happy for our boys. Yes, Jin, Yoongi and RM really brought in their game with their moves. They were so smooth and perfect and looking very handsome too, may I say. Like Taehyung said in the interview, they are perfect. My heart jumped a mile though when I heard that our Hobi got hurt accidentally during the performance because of the tight space but I am glad he is fine. Lucky, they were not wearing shoes. We are truly blessed to have them in our life time. Glad I finally got to watch this again with you tres amigos. 💜💜💜😄
