There are 15 locks in total starting in Montreal to the Sault. 6 are on the USA side , 9 in Canada.

I think the locks start on the St Lawrence river in Quebec and not Lake Ontario, nice video however for a project that doesn't get a lot of press.

If we lose the locks the ore can be transported by railroad. Not the most cost effective but it is an option.

That might overwhelm the railroads and disrupt other deliveries that they cover. It is an option but like you said not the best one.

imagine if that trillion $ infrastructure package was actually spent on infrastructure and not just laundered to friends of the regime. We could fix this project 300 times over but instead we just created hundreds of new billionaires.
