As a child on 4 July 1976, it was a beautiful day of celebration to be an American and to be a military family!! Our 200th celebrations were throughout that summer and humanity was at its best in my worldview at the time. We can all love and respect one another and celebrate every day our democracy continues, God Bless You and God Bless Our United States of America and thank you for this footage!!! 6th Great Niece of President George Washington ❤🇺🇸🗽

I was 17 during all this celebration. there were no protesters , no violence by far liberals or Republicans. we were all Americans and very patriotic. I miss those days.

What a wonderful time. The centennial was full of extreme optimism and pride if American ingenuity , industry and conquest of the western frontier in 1876 The 1976 bicentennial was a celebration of all that is American. Our achievements in culture, science, industry, our democracy, our great experiment in democracy.

What a Great day that was for the entire country.. I can still remember that 76 Spirit throughout the whole 1976 year. There was a harmony of American pride I’d never experienced before or since then. How strong our Republic was... l miss that America deeply. USA!!!

Reasoner looks very much like a guy who got stuck working on a Sunday that happened to be the Bicentennial.

Was almost 7 years old when this happened. I remember the fire boats shooting water in Ny Hudson Bay. The world was a different place Im glad i got to experience it before the cell phones and the Internet ruined it.

The Bicentennial was almost overshadowed by Operation Entebbe in Uganda.

I was only 3 in ‘76 so I don’t remember it😂but it’s wonderful to watch this and look back at how we celebrated America’s 200th birthday. No protests, no drama, no violence…just pride and togetherness. How it should be today.❤️🤍💙
