This is the true spirit of being a musician or any kind of artist. To me art is a creative expression of one's self. Art becomes diluted when it's monetized. I'm a professional visual artist and apparently a good guitarist. People always ask me why I'm not in a band. I reply that I paint/illustrate for a living and by doing so I'm at the mercy of whatever the customer wants. I play the guitar for ME.

Amazing energy! We have a guy like that in our small retro gamedev community. He's in his 60's and making one game after another. I hope & wish to have that kind of passion at that age - or even right now. I mean, I've always been doodling or writing something, that's my idea of time well spent, but I get lost in trying to polish things, level up, do something BIG, and very often I forget to just have with it.

This is the first time I've heard someone else use the term 'warts and all' My old conductor in high school would say it to mean, your best effort and the good will shine through warts and all. My own music is very much the same, I've been doing home recording since 1994 and have 13 albums out with more to come.

no one motivates me to make the music i wanna make quite like mr. moore - even more so than in DIY/punk music, including the underbelly of the beast of garage/grunge rock, there's a level of such unfiltered vulnerability and authenticity in his music that makes me feel so encouraged in pursuing the melodies my brain finds in the world 🥺💕
