I’m guessing that you don’t go in the summer?

I wanted to go back as I haven't been there since the late 60's & now will make it sooner as that was so much more information than I thought existed.

Thank you so much for all this great history. Haven’t been there since the 60’s. I was in elementary school. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏻

Thanks for the video. Black Seminole scouts John Horse and Black Cat were imprisoned there with Oceola. They cut out a bar and escaped to Oklahoma. Oceola could not fit through the bars. He told them to go without him because he was too old to run with them.

Wow! Thanks for the addition. Hard to cram it all in in a short video but that’s a cool story.

Yup, I've been there a few times in my life. That last time I think was 2011.

If you walk around and think about all the events, people and languages that have been spoken in that spot it’s baffling.

@@familytreenutshistorygenealogy ... Yup. I hope you go back and do some more, lots of more cool spots to highlight. I wish I was there right now, I'd hit the Columbia restaurant and grab a 1905 salad, some black bean dip. Just for starters.

3:45 Correction. The Spanish named the colony "San Agustin".

Haha, what is the English translation of that? There’s always one wanting to feel smart.

If you really counted first settlements it was the Vikings and Celtic families and the left funds as ownership the system of Earth and America still in use throughout the Northern USA. But, if you had to count Santo Domingo as owners it works!

One of the coolest historical places to visit especially if you are American or of multiple ancestry as in Hispanic related. Also the other point would be the way the Catholic Church has impacted all of history by commandment of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately there is a lot of sadness and terrible parts in history. God only knows why .

Yes but since it was unoccupied for a bit, St. Augustine has the title of “oldest continuously occupied”.
