Mostly people who are descended from southern settlers are of mostly English and Scottish ancestry. We were once very proud englishman or woman but I think the american revolutionary war tainted that lineage for some.

Your video said to give all comments good or bad. So I'm sorry I said you haven't done research which you clearly have done. But you called me stupid and illiterate. Also in your video you state that over 50% of Ulster is Irish but then towards the end you say the Scots Irish don't count as Irish. How can Scots Irish not count as Irish if they are over 50% Irish? Are you going by DNA or Culture and Religion? If a Scott marries an Irish and their offspring moves to the US, then they definitiely have Irish DNA regardless of Religion or Culture. What percentage is required for Irish DNA to be called Irish? Or is it a Cultural Thing? Do you have to be Catholic to be truly Irish? Lots of people from Ireland proper also inter married with the Anglo Normans, should they be DNA tested to prove that they are Irish?

Proclamation- By the President of the United States In regard to Texas Annexation and War with Mexico: “The enterprise to invade the territories of a friendly nation, set on foot and prosecuted within the limits of the United States, is in the highest degree criminal, as tending to endanger the peace and compromise the honor of the nation. And therefore I expect all good citizens, as they regard our national reputation, as they respect our laws, and laws of other nations, as they value the blessing of peace and the welfare of their country, to discourage and prevent, by all lawful means, any such enterprise, and I call upon every officer of this Government, civil or military, to use all efforts in his power to arrest for trial and punish every such offender against the laws providing for the performance of our sacred obligation to friendly powers.” Undersigned, President, Zachary Taylor on August 11th, 1849 -From the book, “War with Mexico Reviewed” By Abiel Livermore

I'm a Western European mutt, with my great-grandmother immigrating from County Cork, IR, to the U.S. in the late 19th century. Most of my immigrant ancestors were from late 19th century Germany, and earlier, to a lesser percentage, from England. I'm a U.S. citizen of Western European descent. No shame, no pride, just the facts as have been supplied to me.

Family traditions can be funny. For years the story was that we were of Jewish ancestry, maybe the underdog thing only to find out when we traced the tree to end up in Scotland and Wales. Then with DNA tests Germanic and Scandinavian was added in. As the tests becomes more accurate with more people sending them and increasing the size of the database some other DNA are showing up.

I’m the same and love history. I have been doing a lot of research on my family history that I became interested in while in High School. I can remember some of the elders in my family saying we have Native American heritage which I found a good bit about this history in my family history about 10 or so years ago and I remember looking at a family history book in my family of an ancestor who fought in the Battle of Snowden in 1282 in the UK name Sir Anthony De Tipton and fast forward to the 1700s of a descendant of his name Major Jonathan Tipton who was second under command of John Sevier at the battle of Kings mountain and he fought in a few other Revolutionary War battles as well. This is what got my interest in history started. Not to go on a long story as I could chat about history all day lol.

I have visited Sint Maarten/Saint Martin 3 times: 2 for a day each with a cruise ship landing us on the Dutch side and one time was an entire week's stay on the French side. We enjoyed what both sides offer. We found that the nightlife and casinos are more fun on the Dutch side, while the French side, with its more relaxed atmosphere and more worldly food options appealed to our dining and shopping experiences. We found the moniker, the Friendly Island, indeed apropos, as everyone was friendly and welcoming. We have so many fond memories, it would be difficult to count them all here, but I really enjoyed practicing my Dutch and French there, while my travel mate got by just fine with his English-only mantra.
