America's Game 'Missing Rings' - 1988 Bengals - Enhanced - 720p

This America's Game episode was never offered for sale by NFL Films and wasn't available on DVD to my knowledge. I grabbed this copy from Hulu way back in 2011 when Films had a channel there for a hot minute. I upscaled the 532x400 copy to 720p, sharpening the picture in the process. Resolve was used to perform minor color and contrast adjustments

I live in Cincinnati and can tell you Wyche didn't think of the Who Dey chant. He may have resurrected it but that was around during the Bengals first Super Bowl run in 1981 and NFL Films even captured it in their yearbook

This series was fire, thanks Dave for posting this one. They need to produce more of these with the rest of the Super Bowl losers. This was so great as they really go deep into it. Please post the 81 Chargers if you can, I would love a beautiful quality upload of that one.

There’s a number of NFL Films series that aren’t purchasable through their website. I remember I had to go to the tape circuit to buy a couple episodes of NFL Top 10 before people uploaded them. I could see why a lower priority NFL Network series like that wouldn’t occur to them when setting up their online marketplace. But you would think the Missing Rings would be purchasable if the main America’s Game series is (which I believe it is?)

I was only ever interested in the America's Game shows up to about 1990, but I believe this 1988 Bengals film is the only one from those years that wasn't available through their special order catalog, which the NFL shut down altogether a couple years back.

They need to make an entire season of this series for the bungles. The following season should then be all bills episodes. Bills were missing rings so much, they hung an imitation championship banner in training camp 😂

Missing Rings was much better than America's Game and I wished it continued. We could have had the 1979 Bucs, 1983 Redskins, 1986 Jets, 1986 and 1987 Browns, 1999 Bucs, 2007 Patriots and several more.
