Leading them to obviously believe they had talent before hand. That's why you get the outrageous responses because they were set up. Not scripted. It's why all these shows have a sob story now instead of genuinely exploiting delusional people for a comedic factor.

Must be some kind of vocal technique? Maybe not intentionally, but something subconscious in his case since I doubt he’s vocally trained. Hand placement can help with staying in tune when you’re belting out a note higher than your comfortable range.

You can kind of understand some of it, the nerves ruin what may be otherwise better performances but if you can't get over the nerves then you aren't going to handle the real deal like Jewel said which is why it doesn't matter what doctorates or coaching they have, if they can't show they can sing under pressure without going off key then they're going to be shown the door.

To be honest, if this was current, he could make a career on here. But back then they weren’t looking for voices they could mix down to perfection. They wanted professional vocals without mixing. But yes from a professional perspective, terrible. But from a listener standpoint, some of these people could add some auto tune and make a decent record.

Let's make sure that kids have something to feel good about.I'm sure there is something in each one that can be developed to be better regardless of how far they can go with it.There's several things that I can do that is decent and I'm glad I'm capable of it.However,there are people who are very much better than me and some not quite as good.I enjoy doing them anyway,but I won't go on national TV to embarrass myself with it.

I'm so glad this exists. I was sitting in a nice area having lunch, watching videos and minding my own business. Several young people, who had plenty other areas to choose from, decided to sit by me and have a loud conversation about all the vapid meaningless crap young people care about, so I searched for something horrible and found this video. I like to encourage people to be musicians, but the people around these people need to tell them the truth so they don't go on tv and embarrass themselves.
