Coming here as a progressive, socialist loving, British gay male. Not one to usually comment, but bravo to PBS for this great show. It’s striking to me that when stripped back to fundamental principles, Ann’s beliefs in this interview aren’t too far from mine. Ann speaks beautifully, and I appreciated her take on political adversaries. She’s provided a great example here of how to discuss conflicting ideas without the venomous attacks and intensity that’s become the norm, both in US and UK culture. I am usually cautious of listening to interviews like this because of the ‘them-versus-us’, personal and divisional attacks aimed, but I admire Ann’s respect, humour and humanity in this video. Even with views that I didn’t like or support, Ann’s research to support her argument has reminded me of compassion and reasoning that’s missing in today’s age of free speech. Less of the blame game, less vitriol, but holding people to account when appropriate. A willingness to engage and listen to counter arguments is important, and I enjoyed questioning my own views while watching. I think humility is missing in today’s political arena, and I thank Ann for adding to my hope for more harmonious government practises. X

Hey. Quit identifying by party. These parties do not represent you. They represent alternate desires and needs. Therefore you need to vote by what the country needs most at that time. Each party has its strengths and weaknesses. In 2008 we needed a Democrat to reverse some if the toxic shit that Bush did. In 2016 we needed a republican to reverse some of the toxic shit Obama did. And thats exactly how I voted personally. I voted for Obama AND I voted for Trump. A constant democratic presidency will eventually lead to legitimate communism. And vice versa. Vote for current necessary policy. Not party.

You know, FRONTLINE has always impressed me - even when it's interviewing people I really don't like or care for (like Bannon and Coulter), they do it in such a fair way and they bring down the level of antagonism and animosity and you can actually LEARN something about who these people are and how they work. Again, I don't like her or Bannon, but now I get a better sense of how they operate and they at least seem less crazy. Coulter is actually surprisingly independently-minded. Good work, Frontline. These PBS frontline interviews are tremendously well done. Goes to show to the american people what it really means to have a PUBLIC service. Private services are way more biased than anything and all about getting that clickbait. This just gives everyone a space to speak and explain their point of view. Brilliant job by the interviewer. That said, from this lady and Bannon, I get their basic understanding of marxism (that is all that story about bigger worker pools lowering wages) and their nationalism (our policies must protect the american worker) but they fail to recognize that there is an underlying power struggle in the system.. that will always push back.. doesn't matter the banner you are behind and that is capitalism. I love this chic, why can't I find a woman like her, not that I agree with everything she says, but I am attracted to her resolve, strength and ability to have all the answers to back up her beliefs. Strong intelligent woman are so sexy!

why you can't find someone like her -- she is otherworldly, an angel

She is a woman with a very, very high I.Q. You don't want a woman with that high an I.Q. I think she's great, but she's not married for a reason.

Kyle S. But make no mistake; she has her personal agenda that often blurs the lines to remain relevant while pretty much straddling the fence.

nameless76 mozwhaz Not really. I’ll give you that she’s animated and very passionate, but passion often stifles policy statistics when she cant remember exact numbers to back her clearly pointed bias on given issues. She can’t even conjure up Trumps more popular trumpism’s when put on the spot. If you’re wanting to see Coulter under better light, simply tune into her visits on Real Time with Bill Maher. Her true colors often come out when exposed to her own bullshit. And that’s coming from someone who tends to agree with s lot she has to say.

I enjoyed hearing Ann Coulter being so calm and intelligent. And the interviewer seemed one of the best. Thank you.

@@larrysawler3202 Haha, nope. But I do live in Illinois - which is more than halfway there, politically and geographically. Bureaucrats in Chicago determine policy for the rest of the state, which is nothing like Chicago (thankfully).
@Erichhh4 жыл бұрын
@apx. pegasus Exactly. There is a huge incentive for bureaucrats to take their slice - or more than that, such that the "intended" recipients get very little. As Milton Friedman said (paraphrasing): "There is no such thing as a temporary government program". The supporting bureaucracy grows and begins to immediately focus on self-perpetuation, and even if the result of the program is totally inadequate, the solution is always that it needs more money to be successful. Repeat this cycle over the years and you end up where we are today - billions spent with next to zero benefit. Well, except for the government employees who administer these ineffective programs - they all end up with six-figure lifetime pensions.

We need more interviews like this. Let poeple express themselves, and enough of the hypocrisy. This will lead to adressing real issues. This will lead to exposing themselves and we can know the real enemy.
