My niece was taken after we realized something happened to her, while in foster care. Her brother was returned, but they allowed someone to adopt my niece, by rejecting everyone in out family and friends from getting her. Her brother father came forward and helped with his process, but my family is damaged, because we’ve been fighting for over 8 years… PLEASE HELP

The number 751 unmarked graves found near former residential school in Canada was only one location. Last year there was a search of several sites all over Canada. Since last spring over 1,100 bodies have been found (according to one website. I believe that 3000 is closer to the total) From first hand accounts we know there a still a lot more to be found.

I grew up in privatized foster care. They didn't give me a toothbrush for the whole 5 years I was there, and refused to ever take me to the dentist when I started having trouble with my teeth, because they didn't want to spend the money they were getting for having me there on caring for me.

I am 💯 with you on this horror. Another side of the coin is that white children are frequently left in abusive situations, because of the biases of the COS agents. I was one of those kids. CPS never once spoke to me separate of her. I met an agent exactly once, she met with both my mother and me. We sat in front of her desk a few minutes, my mother chatted with her, and then we left. I had been hoping someone would finally see me, and help me, but no.

Not just one, hundreds of unmarked burials (the term used because some are at cemeteries with no headstones, some were in a series of graves with no headstones, etc.) at former residential school sites in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, though searches are now happening at former residential schools across Canada.

I'm thankful for two reasons: 1.) I grew up in the 70's before a lot of this CPS intrusion into families... and 2.) my Mom, along with being a single parent, was a social worker and knew how the system worked and was able to raise my sister and I with few problems. Families of today are in a whole different reality and I'm so sorry for that.
