I imagine the Italians will also replace their aging AAVs with the SuperAV ACV, considering that its their excellent design: wouldn't be surprised if the Spanish followed suite as well. Meanwhile, the Japanese have decided to procure the Patria AMV to replace the AAV -- another wonderful design. They'll be doubling their defence budget in the very near future: they've always been a sleeper in the defence community, its about time they bore their fangs and got their shit together. Here's hoping they'll procure the Queen Elizabeth's; perhaps they'll also convince the Brits, Italians, and Swedes to develop a maritime variant of the Tempest considering they've merged their fighter programme with theirs. The carriers in Royal Naval service need a 6th generation replacement for the F-35B anyway. The Royal Navy has been discussing adoption of electromagnetic catapults on their carriers once the technology matures enough, which should enable relatively easy adoption of the Tempest to the maritime. That aside, I do wonder what will replace the Strykers in US Army service: whether it will be the SuperAV ACV for commonality, a domestic design, co-operative design a-la the Griffin III, or most likely a European design such as the Boxer. Us Aussies are replacing our ASLAVs with the Boxer, though it isn't amphibious and is much heavier compared to other Asian/European wheeled IFV/APCs which may be a dealbreaker for the US.

@goldenhide
@goldenhide Жыл бұрын
I imagine anything that will fit on a CROWS (and other RWS since this is marketed elsewhere) will work fine. Marine Corps just awarded a contract for "Production Representative Test Vehicles" in August of this year for the ACV-30 which is equipped with a 30mm autocannon. If they stick with the Italian Hitfist it mounts a 25mm Oerlikon or 30/40mm ATK autocannon, and a coax GPMG with the option of mounting ATGM's such as TOW's. I imagine OTO and BAE are going to base something off of that to meet USMC requirements and go from there. But it's well within the realm of possibility since the original vehicle the ACV is based on is configurable with the larger turret.

The camera of the gun should not covered in smoke when its firing, they should have a second separated camera for the gun, for clean vision

This is amazing, to send a vehicle across to secure the opposite bank. Recently we see that , bridge-laying is vulnerable.

The .50 should be secondary, and atleast a 30mm primary, but still a great vehicle for the 21st century Marines. Semper Fi!

Yes, it was the military vehicles branch of FIAT, even if today IDV is part of the company CNH Industrial N.V. (born in 2012 from the merger of CNH Global and Fiat Industrial)

Awesome video, thanks for posting this! Too bad the army doesn’t have these for rivers and other water obstacles. The future military needs to view the battlefield as if no rivers exist and all of the mechanized forces can freely continue to move and fight right over them without waiting for pontoon bridges.

And it isn't secure heliboure assaults. Infantry in rafts, tanks using attack by fire and artillery is used to secure the area long enough to build the bridge.

They actually perform very well on all kinds of terrain. They handle steep hills with ease. They are not as top heavy as they appear to be. I have been building and welding the hulls for these vehicles for 5 years now where I work. BAE systems in York county Pa. It is a very capable platform.
