Iron dome protects against small rockets. The United States is too large for small rockets to be a threat. We need ICBM protection and cruise missile protection which we already have. I'm a little puzzled by this Iron Dome for America thing. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody, but the biggest threat to America comes from ICBMs. Iron Dome was not designed to respond to an ICBM attack. It was developed to counter very short-range rockets and 155mm artillery shell threats with ranges of up to 70km. Could Iron Dome defend against a barrage of Russian ICBM's each carrying multiple warheads? I don't friggin' think so. So what's the point here?

However if we try to build this with our current defense department method of spending money it will be very difficult if not impossible to do within a reasonable budget.
