"America Sings" was a beloved attraction that ran at Disneyland from 1974 - 1988. It featured a Masters of Ceremonies called Sam the Eagle (voiced by Burl Ives) and a wide variety of audio-animatronic characters that eventually ended up populating Splash Mountain. This was shot by a friend of ours in December 1987 and has never been posted before. America Sings was written and designed by Marc Davis & Al Bertino (their first show without input from Walt Disney).

@@kristin6351 I don't think those animals will go well with the Princess and the Frog as they too anthropomorphic and many of the animals don't fit in with the movie's background. Even if you strip their clothes off they would stick out like a sore thumb in the attraction. They worked for Splash Mountain but not for Princess and the Frog. I do hope the animatronics gets to be used in some way but hopefully restore America Sings as it's a celeberation for America (despite the fact that the US is not in best shape thanks to Tronald Dump, who I hope lose the election, gets arrested and throw in jail for what little life he has left that bastard) and that can NEVER get out of style as long as you make small updates like The Carousel of Progress.

Actually Debbie stills alive and kicking at 67 years old almost 68! My friend told me when got entered when he went to Disneyland and heared a conversation of two veteran emplooyees in Innovations and they said that she only left the job after july 8 cuz she got married, the body they found was confused as Debbie's body since Debbie leaved the place quickly, but that body was actually a fake zombie corpse of a terror Disneyland attraction and was buried and honored as Debbie but actually all this time it was a zombie 😂

What's funny are the reasons it were shut. 1. It was in Tommorowland but celebrated America's bicentennial. Themeing? What's that? And 2, as it celebrated the 200th anniversary of America, it was becoming very outdated and Disney already had some patriotic celebrations active which were much less expensive than a whole rotating ride. Even if we ignore that the building where this was housed is now the queue for Galaxy's Edge, it being based upon an outdated celebration pretty much kills it at least in Disney's eyes. The death of Debbi Stone probably didn't help matters given how infamous this ride became as a result but the last past is merely speculation whereas the other two are confirmed.

Just being a general tech nerd I have to question if there's some practical reason as to why the weasel appears in each skit. I wonder if it's a creative means of synchronizing the tape machines to assure all the shows are synced. Or perhaps it's a cleverly masked control signal that automatically triggers a second tape machine for each scene which would be nessacary for a continuous system such as this to work.
