Lol I clicked on this video expecting something ditzy and airheaded but instead I found a sound (albeit limited in scope) analysis of cultural differences in young people's love lifes in different countries. I think you did a good job describing this.

Dating DOES often mean a relationship in America. You meant you were "seeing" some guys. Guys that you MIGHT see are guys you are "talking to". I'm an older dude but I'm pretty sure that's the order.

Your dates met your parents? Really? which state did you live in?
@lifeoflo19033 жыл бұрын
I lived in CT & NY! But lived there in high school so that's probably why my dates met my parents. I'm sure it's different when you're in college or older

Yeah it is. Also she apparently doesn't understand why we have this contrast in dating. We do not ask the other person to go steady with us because we assume as long as we're still meeting up and seeing eachother they're not dating other people simultaneously and that the relationship is progressing into something long term and meaningful. Our culture values telling eachother the truth of the matter, if we find out you're dating others while dating us it means you're untrustworthy and disrespectful, and we cut you off.

@@РафаэлаХендрикс That's true. I also think we are more open-minded about meeting other people, because it's okay to talk about sex and expectations in a relationship. Not everyone would be open to have their partner meet up with others, sure, but because you start from a point of trust it's easier to talk about it and then decide whether or not it's okay to see other people while dating each other. I had a partner who was perfectly fine with me seeing other men, because she's a woman so she can't give me that experience, and because we had that conversation she wasn't surprised when I confessed to having slept with another man. She asked me what it was like, if I liked it, and we had great sex afterwards. It can even expand your mind on how to spice up your sex life with your partner, but I guess even in Europe not alot of people are that open-minded lol
