I have enchiritos several times a year. My wife fries hamburger meat, adds canned enchilada sauce and spoons some of the mixture into a flour tortilla along with cheddar cheese. Then she rolls it up and spoons more of the meat sauce over it along with more cheese and a sprinkling of chopped onion. BTW my Mom learned that dish from a neighbor shortly after we moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1965.

Hardee’s roast beef sandwiches were just as good as Arby’s back in the 80s. They tried to roll them out again a few years ago and they didn’t taste anywhere near as good. They still do have the ham and cheese sandwich, which is still good … Though way too expensive.

I worked at a Taco Bell back in the late 80s. Not only did it have real beef, it had *fresh* beef. We used to have to cook it daily. We took these big, rectangular containers - I'd call them pots, but they're too shallow. Into the container went fresh ground beef (not frozen), and a big package of seasoning. Unlike some other taco places (looking at you, Del Taco), this did not include oatmeal, just seasoning. We then took a tool that was a long metal handle with a piece of metal on the end that was like a bar that had been bent many times to make a number of parallel bars connected by small bends, kind of like a potato masher, and constantly stirred the beef to cook it up. Everything else was similarly fresh. We fried the shells, shredded the lettuce and cheese, sliced the tomatoes, etc. The only things that came in cans were olive slices, jalapeno slices, sour cream, guacamole, and sauces. Even the beans were fresh. We used to pressure cook those. That always made me slightly nervous. Nothing like an unskilled, marginally trained high school student operating an industrial pressure cooker....

I didn’t even know that Hardees discontinued the Frisco burger. Admittedly, I don’t go to Hardees very often because the few locations near me are difficult to get to and the service tends to be pretty slow but I really used to like that one. Another discontinued Hardees item that I REALLY miss were the cinnamon raisin biscuits. Those things were absolutely amazing! Btw, I worked at a McDonald’s around the time that the McDLT was discontinued, I believe that the Big and Tasty was supposed to be the replacement for it. Speaking of McDonald’s, does anyone miss the old McDonaldsland cookies?

I got one! Hardee's had fresh fried chicken. You could get an entire meal including mash potatoes, Mac and cheese, and apple pie. They are winning over KFC customers in my town and I never knew why it didn't last but I got a b on my presentation for speech of class with secret video of how it was prepared😂

The Pizza Hut Priazzo is one item that I never forgot about, and they needed to bring it back. Once they got rid of it, I was not interested in Pizza Hut anymore. That was all I wanted my mother to get.

I worked at a jack in the box in the 80's - and my favorite break meal was the tacos (otherwise known to us workers as mystery meat tacos) I still get them when I get near a jack in the box (none out here in western Kentucky)

@@twincams350 Haha, sorry, no. The cat food in a wet envelope rather turned me off. I remember we ate at Jack in the Box once in awhile when we were kids in the late 60s early 70s though I don't recall the tacos back then. I guess they moved out of our area in the 1980s.

In houston we used to stop at Wendy's for their apple dumpling with a clear cinnam on. sauce. I seem to remember the salad/ choice bar at the same time. And jack in the box had just started croissant breakfast sandwiches. We'd stop and get. Bkfst to go on our way to nursing school. N̈ow at 78, 😂i dont even get takeout coffee except about once every 2 weeks. I was spending over $600 a month. Bought an $80 Krups espresso machine and make my own. Get syrups from the discount wholesale stores, sugar free, and im a happy woman.😅😅😅

One of my favorite local/neighborhood pizza places has a crust choice called a Keystone Crust, which is a double decker crust. Fish was a staple on Fridays during pre-Vatican II times .KFC also got rid of their potato wedges, but if you live where there's a Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, you can have potato wedges
