But you will need to find your own way to get to 1500 hours to join the airlines. Most people will instruct to get their hours as it’s the fastest way. You need to have associates. And one other way is the student flex option then you can study and attend the flight school together. Just check their website

Regionals don’t require any college level education. However, if you want to do Majors, you will need a bachelors degree (in anything).

I have a few questions (I’m 16 and want to consider going to the academy right out of high school) 1. Do I need to have a college degree to transfer to the regional airlines or American Airlines? 2. If I are accepted (or want to be accepted) to a regional airline (PSA, Piedmont, Envoy), do we need to get above 350 flight hours? 3. How difficult is it to get the job at one of the three regional airlines? 4. Is the pay at regional airlines any good? 5. How long will we need to remain at one of the regional airlines before going onto mainline American Airlines?
