Kona always reminds me of what it would be like to go to planet Mars. Great video!

I am amazed how many airlines serve the islands that didn't before and how can 737's do trans oceanic flights across the Pacific. How well do they stay aloft if an engine fails half way across the ocean.

It really is something else. All airplanes that fly over bodies of water have to be ETOPS rated. Modern jet engines are mechanical wonders. Airliners can flying generally with only one engine in a situation where the other fails. Look up ETOPS videos on KZbin and they will break it all down for you. Thanks for watching

Never been to Kona Airport, but i heard that they didn’t have jetways and only one condition fan.

Its true. You walk up ramps and the terminals are all outside. If you look at my video of the takeoff from Kona you can see the terminal and the ramp to board the planes. Thanks for watching.

Very nice video. Thanks for posting & sharing. The runway pavement is showing signs of wear, isn't it?. Greetings from Gran Canaria.

Probably, I can imagine a lot of maintenance being required due to the salt from the ocean. Thanks for watching.

Was the Pilot monitoring KOA arrivals when the Flight Attendant made the pre-arrival announcement?
