I used to ride my ATV all through that area. The gate was always locked at the Tumble Inn. I moved out of California but thankS to your video I get to see it.

Glad you enjoyed it. It was purely by chance that the gate was open. I believe there was a power line maintenance crew that I passed and that may be why it was open.

While the gate was open when you passed, keep in mind the roadway is closed and those gates can be closed at any time. Always use caution as the gate MAY close behind you. We, the Ridge Route Preservation Organization, are working to keep the roadway open and make sure it is maintained properly. In August 2021, we cleared the rockslide visible at 22:54 in the video.
