He was way beyond his years. Can't believe he was only 26 years old but the soul and voice of an old man

Hard to imagine he was only 26, i swear people back in the day aged differently.

He already looked, talked, behaved and dressed like a grown man - which he was - nowadays, young folks of his age look, talk, behave and dress like kids or immature teenagers even as they reach 26 (and even later, in their thirties), I swear !

It's kind of eerie how Dick Clark is actually discussing how Otis travels through rain, sleet, and snow when he later died in a plane crash due to bad weather conditions. It's almost like he was subconsciously giving him a warning to slow down.

What a loss. And always remember The Bar-Kays, people. All but two of their members died with Otis. Their career was just getting started. They had the classic 'Soul Finger'. One of the greatest party songs ever. They were just teenagers fresh out of high school. So sad.
@pussyfunk-stopputtingthepu26522 жыл бұрын
I'm personally more into the Bar-Kays of the ''Dangerous'', ''Banging the Walls'' or ''Contagious'' albums (mid/late 1980s electro-funk), not much into their 1960s and 1970s stuff; but it's true that it's where they originated from, indeed ...

He died when I was 5 years old. I remember the song - sitting on the dock of the bay. I heard my parents talking about him dying. I was confused though because I still heard the song. At that time in a 5 year old mind I thought that ppl would stand in line at the radio station and come in and sing their song and leave🤣. I asked my father "I thought Otis Redding was dead?" My father said he IS dead. I said "well how can he still sing the song??" That's when I learned about records😂. I NEVER forgot that 🙂. I never knew how fine he was until I watched this. He was gone too soon😢.

The "Real" reason was that they looked at Talent not "Color". Also alot of these kids lives weren't anything like their US Counterparts. Blue Collar, Low Income Housing, and many of the Sailors went to America and bought back the Records which the kids loved. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, were three of the Major Groups influenced by American Blues (most notably Chess). Even The Moody Blues were a "Blues" Band before they did pop. Even know alot of Boy Band/Girl Group Icons cover obscure R & B Songs.
