I love looking back at these 70s videos. It's such a breath of fresh air to see no false hair painted on faces (heavy makeup) and teeth layered in veneers. Just natural and beautiful. ~Blake

What a beautiful family. Ten children all together. Saw them on Groucho Marx show with their parents when there were only 5 and one in the oven. They sang in harmony even as little kids. Lovely.

I was 10 when I first discovered the Sylvers. Foster is about 4 years older than me, so he was the sexy older man. Saw them in concert at Magic Mountain - was one of the best days of my life!!

Dick Clark had the presence of mind to read the plaque and show it to the audience. By contrast, Don Cornelius of Soul Train, when the Sylvers gave him a thank-you plaque...

Shoot you better be glad he had the fortitude to have a show for black people at all instead of not picking about unimportant things... Don was smooth and the atmosphere on soul train was better in my opinion...it felt like home.

@@sunflowerpwr.8821 Yes! Dick Clark always came off lowkey condescending to black artist, his interviews always felt awkward...but he did give black artist air time, Don Cornelius was weird with his interviews as well IMO but again these artist got showcased so it's a give and take 🤷♂️

I think Edmund Sylvers was handsome and fine at the time but he had a son who name is Jeremy Sylvers, and his son were a actress/actor on the movie that he played on ‘Child’s Play 3’. Then, now, I found out that he’s grown up to be a man as handsome like his dad Edmund... Like WOW!!!

I need to watch their Unsung segment again, I could have sworn that Olympia was not on the "Boogie Fever" track due to her violent episode of being kidnapped, stabbed and drugged! Maybe I misunderstood! I could've sworn that she didn't sing after the second album which debut in 1973! Boogie Fever came out in 1976! Maybe I'm wrong

Actually that happened in the mid 60,'s,after when they were The Little Angels.Angie said she was like 6 or 7 when that unfortunate incident happened.By the time they made their first album the incident was more like 5,6 years before.

I have a chance to see the Sylvers in St Louis back in the seventies it was truly a blessing the Jackson 5 and the Sylvers they were considered as the first families of the black community so proud of them love them both make no distinction between these two

It saddens me that their father just walked away leaving the mother to raise all those kids. Fortunately she was grounded and they turned out successful. Thank god for our strong mothers..
