Attention: I’ve Mistakenly Said Leon Was Born In 1943 Instead Of 1953 Which Is My Fault. I’m Aware That I Showed A Photo Of Charmaine But Said It Was Olympia. The Website Where I Got The Photo From Said It Was Olympia But I Should’ve Made Sure. At The End Of The Video Where I Named Family Groups… I Did NOT Forget To Mention Any Groups I’ve Named A Few And Asked For You All To Name More Groups Who You Feel Should Be Mentioned When Asking Who Is The Best Family Group. (Realistically I Wasn’t Going To Name 40+ Family Group Names Just Want To Make That Clear That No Group Was Left Out Or Failed To Be Mention I Seen That Thrown Around A lot)

I Did Not Forget To Mention This Song In The Video I Didn’t Mention Anyone’s Solo Careers I May Mention That A Person Pursued A Solo Career But Never Went Into Detail Of It This Video Was Focused Solely On The Sibling Group The Sylvers. If You Want Individual Videos Of The Siblings Please Let Me Know.

Great Post -- 'Saw the Sylvers in DC at Loew's Palace Theater in 1976, with Little Foster Sylvers taking the "Mic" at the Midnight Show (commenting about getting back home to his "Wife & Kids")! :) Cute!!! ... Question: Who is the Little Guy in the Family Photo @ 2:24 on the Left? I see the 9 Sylvers Members & Little Christopher at the Bottom-Center, but who is the Other Little Guy? A Grandchild, Maybe? Just Wonderin'? Anyway, Thanks for the Post!!! Peace :)@@WBPTV

There was an interview with some members of the Sylvers. They talked about Don Cornelius and Dick Clark. Both men had a positive impact on the Sylvers career. Dick Clark warned them that certain individuals with strong influence didn't want the Sylvers to succeed. Exactly who or why wasn't explained. After the Five Stairsteps and J5 had success, I was hoping the Sylvers would blow up also. They did have a level of success, but it should have been on a larger scale.

Leon lll was born in 1953. He is 2 years younger than Olympia. Vocally, The Emotions and Pointer Sisters (when there were 4) stood above the others. Musically, The Isley Brothers were a self contained band, especially in the 70's. And you forgot about Tavares, and the Bee Gees. In the 80's, Zapp had the Troutman Brothers.

Didn't mention that Edmund had 11, possibly 12 kids. Charmaine was the first to step away from the group when she was pregnant. She was the first of them to be married. Olan/Olympia very tragically, was kidnapped, drugged and sexually assaulted. The police found and brought her home 3 days later. She was traumatized and turned to drugs for awhile. She married and had kids is a grandmother. Her husband passed. Their father, Leon Sr. left because as fame hit the family, he partied instead of paying the bills. Their mother was pregnant when they appeared on "You bet your life" in 1955. Leon was voted out of the group because of pressure to keep their contract. He was picked up by SOLAR as a writer and started the group Dynasty. My favorite songs are New Horizon and Forever Yours. Charmaine did a single for Gene Page called 'Love starts after Dark'

I LOVEEEEEEEE The Emotions! It started early for me bcuz my mother loved them. She always played their hit record Show Me How when they left the church. By the time I started school, Best Of My Love & I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love were big hits. Whenever we had assembly at school, 2 of my friends & I *ALWAYSSSSSSSS* sang Best Of My Love! 🤣 I recently found one of them on FB & asked if she remembered us doing that, she did! 🤣 I also loved The Jones Girls, that's a story I'd love to hear! They were the only girl group to come close to them in the 70s/80s, with the exception of EnVogue in the 90s.

Yep. Leon produced AND wrote a lot of their material. I watched a documentary about them. They had a slimy manager who convinced them to vote Leon out. The slimy manager bumped heads with Leon previously, so getting him out of the way was planned. The group got ripped off by the mgr. 50% of their earnings went into his pockets. Leon would not have allowed that to happen.

My personal ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG from The Sylvers is "New Horizons." I remember watching them perform that song on Soul Train (back in the day) and I have been searching KZbin for that performance video without success. As far as my favorite family band, The Jacksons/Jackson 5ive.

I love The Sylvers. They had such a smooth blend as a family group and the type of harmony that seemed to shimmer. I love their earlier work, but was really impressed with the sound of their later New Horizons album. There were such sophisticated arrangements on that album that harken back to some of their earlier work, such as Fools Paradise. In many instances The Sylvers, in my opinion achieved a superior harmony than the Jacksons, though I love both groups. Thank you for the amazing work you are doing! 🙏🌹👑✨️👑🌹✨️🙏

Its funny Beyonce song Forever Young reminds me of The Sylvers song "Forever Yours " The Sylvers were a group of handsome and gorgeous brother and sister act. I don't think they get the recognition they deserve for their contribution to the record industry. They go back to the days of old Hollywood when they were small children. As they got older mature music should have been given to them an better producers as well. They are still loved by their many fans today❤🎶❤

Man! 1976 was the year I really discovered music. I was 8 years old but I was buying singles (well my parents bought them for me) and listening the albums the older kids were playing. I think I still have that High School Dance 45. I think Loving You IIs Like Loving The Wind was on the back. Man, I loved that song. Everyone it came on the radio I’d start clappin with the beat.

Forever yours was an underrated LP. “ Come on down to my house” and remake of “Swept for you” where standout slow jams from that LP. It wasn’t a party LP but they had outstanding slow jams.

Misdemeanor is my absolute favorite. That bassline is killer and so unique and ahead of it's time. Leon really knew his stuff. The trio Foster, Angie,Pat sound so good together. It still rocks.

Leon Frank Sylvers III was born in 1953, not 43 and Olympia is the first child. The mother and father were both born in 1933. I know they didn't get married and have Leon, when they were 10.

Yes it has, that was my mistake I meant to say ‘53 but instead I said ‘43, and the picture of Charmaine was my mistake also, when I was gathering all the photos the website had that photo listed as Olympia, but that’s my mistake I should’ve double checked
