Life WAS better then!! I'm in my 60's and I am witness to that!!!

It wasn't that good. Backbthen, you would have to be white or know someone to work in for the post office. Now anyone can. Jobs are just more plentiful now for black folk. You don't have to go to college if your capable of being taught. I'm 61. I even make $70,000 -?. Never Been to college

I was 15 when this terrific record came out and the first time that I heard it in my local record shop I was instantly up to the counter. Damn but it is such a great song. Everything about this tune just simply oozes class. To be honest, there are not enough superlatives to describe just how perfect this song is. So all I can say to everybody who loves real music is keeping grooving baby! 🐈🐾🐾

Hearing the song playing in the hallway of my High School, during 1975. Man O Man, what a Great Life we all had, dancing to this in the hallway of school! Song about a guy getting electricity just from sitting next to a girl! Yeah, this is Waaaayyy before internet pornography. Males were so much happier back then!

Enjoy this song in 1975 when it first came out. The Miracles minus Smokey Robinson continued to thrive and produce hit after hit! Thanks for sharing this with the KZbin community.

Warren "Pete" Moore, an original member of the first Motown group, The Miracles, died yesterday (November 19, 2017) on his 78th birthday. Moore formed the Miracles with childhood friend Smokey Robinson. Once the group was signed by Motown as its first major act, Moore and Robinson began actively writing songs together, and they became a force, penning hits for their own group, such as “Ooh Baby Baby,” as well as for other groups like The Tempations (“Since I Lost My Baby”) and Marvin Gaye (“I’ll Be Doggone”). Once Robinson left the group, Moore soldiered on with new lead singer Billy Griffin, co-writing the #1 hit “Love Machine” and producing much of the group’s 70s hits.

"Love Machine" is a 1975 single recorded by Motown group The Miracles, taken from their album City of Angels. The song was a #1 Pop smash on the Billboard Hot 100, and the biggest-selling hit single of The Miracles' career. This single was one of two Billboard Hot 100 Top 20 hits recorded by The Miracles with Billy Griffin as lead vocalist; the other is 1973's "Do It Baby". Griffin had replaced Miracles founder Smokey Robinson as lead singer in 1972. The song features a growling vocal by Miracle Bobby Rogers, with group baritone Ronnie White repeating "yeah, baby" throughout the song.

I'm wondering if Smokey, listening to this song, thought "I think I made a big mistake leaving the Miracles." (Especially given that this was The Miracles' biggest hit--bigger than Tears of a Clown) OTOH, given his solo success, probably not...
