Queen consort really means or just consort, is their companion though is still steeped in tradition where the male genders still seen as superior there's never therefore a King Consort (instead of Regina as in EIIR, which is the Latin word for Queen will be Rex being for King now something like CIIIR). Though was about in 2013 I think it was anyone born into the family (or aristocracy for that matter) after 2012 regardless of gender shall have an equal right to succeed/ascend/inherit. Will be now Charles Rex instead of seeing the EIIR crests when it was Elizabeth Regina.

We went and laid a floral tribute as a family at the Sandringham Estate today (where the Queen stayed nearly every Christmas) the whole thing was surreal. Such a large crowd, but very little noise, people talking to each other, to Police, to volunteers..... strangers brought together in quiet respectful shared mourning.... truly a once in a life time experience. God rest the Queen's soul. I will say this nobody does pomp, pageantry, planning and organisation better than us Brits... Hats off to all the staff and volunteers of The Sandringham Estate.

I'm not a monarchist and never have been, but the loss of the Queen has hit me in a way I never thought it would. She's always just been there in the background of all our lives, a living link to over a thousand years of our history. Her face and cipher has surrounded us, on our money, postage stamps, policemens' helmets - everywhere you look in the UK you'll see reminders of her - and it's going to be very strange to see all those small, everyday things gradually change to a new face, a new cipher, a new chapter in our history. Whatever your thoughts on the monarchy, she was, in every sense, a very great Lady who served the nation as best she could for over 70 years.

I must admit I was a bit unsure of Charles becoming King but he has got off to a great start. I do think he's going to nail it. When he went to Buckingham Palace for the first time as King he had the car stop just outside the gate and he and Camilla got out. The King went along the assembled crowd and shook the hand of what looked like EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the first 2 rows and thanked them for being there. Long Live The King!

@@paulbarnett227 What unsure exactly why? I met him for some few months of his time at Portland naval base, and there are many stories of his time there. He was a great binding person at the base, he was funny, and loved pranks on everyone including himself. He will be a great king, he is as humble as his mother was, and there is a story of a crash in Weymouth in which he was the victim so to speak, but his humour shone through even this event, and apparently the dawning look of shock on the woman driver's face was apparently something to watch, at no time in the events did he say who he was, use his royal status as an advantage, and just let it play out naturally.

@@ballockybill2277 how do any of us even know whether Charles even knew what Saville really was ? You’re making assumptions and that could land you in hot water if the proof isn’t there. It’s classed as defamation of character if he didn’t know. That’s something we’ll never get to know. But in the long run it’s best not to jump to conclusions. Lots of people at the BBC knew it but never said anything. It’s very easy to paint yourself to look like a saint like Saville did and get away with what he got away with for all those years unfortunately. Sad that he managed to go to his grave with his dirty little secret, rather than being caught and imprisoned.

@@ballockybill2277 okay, but let’s not jump to conclusions anyway. Just because of the whole thing with Andrew..... we can’t just assume that they’re all that way inclined. Nothing has been proven in any case. There’s been celebrities that were accused during operation Yew Tree and those few that were innocent, have still had their lives irreparably damaged by the accusations. Saville got away with it because he gave himself that aura of invincibility. The fact that he was given the opportunity to get to vulnerable Broadmoor and hospital patients is scary. All those girls and I’m sure boys too from his days on Top Of The Pops and Jim’ll Fix It who he likely fondled will be mentally scarred for life. I could not speak at my mums funeral and that was 2 weeks after she passed. I am going to miss the Queen more that I thought. Loosing someone that you don't know nor have never met - weird . I was not sure about Charles but after this speech, I felt every word he said...respect. God save the King

The UK here x Really touched by your video and mark of mourning respect for our majesty. Our King is being so strong and has not had the privacy to mourn the passing of his mother. Our King's proclamation, government meetings, the tour of the UK, the vigil of the Princes and many more state business he has to do must be incredibly draining. His Majesty and his family have been so brave. Thank you. God Save the King x

He hit exactly the right notes and has done so in all the other speeches he has made since. I am sure he will make a fine King. You showed the best of respect to our King and our country and it is a pleasure to be part of your crew.

I cry every time I see it, watching them walk behind her coffin makes me feel proud of our traditions and the pomp of Britain. The strength of his character in both that speech and the other duties he has had to fulfill is awe inspiring x

The saddest part is that this family having lost a mother, grandmother and great grandmother were not really given the chance to grieve but were almost immediately expected to go out and meet people and listen to how the Queen's passing impacted them. But I guess that is the never-ending duty they're expected to shoulder. It's so easy to see that pain in his eyes.

The Queen herself was only 25 years old when her father died... and he himself was unexpectedly thrust into the 'top job' when his brother abdicated. Those royals are made of stern stuff!

They’ll get over it tiny price to pay for their luxury life.normal people may not have cameras but they have ordinary people pressure .Imsure having dressers hairdressers chefs maids and all the money you can ask for is lot easier than ordainry people having to run households hold down jobs get flights if away in another country.no private jets medical care and the best of everything.it’s sad when people lose a loved one but no Idonthink they gave it harder.

I think King Charles is a wonderful speaker. You can feel the genuine emotion behind his speech. He included everyone and it feels like he understands the changes that has happened but also those to come.

Thank you so much for a touching and lovely video. That must have been such a difficult speech for him to make, especially at such an emotional time. The impact of the Queens passing will be felt for a long time, and we all will be there to support the King as he adjusts to his new life

I had watched it when it was broadcast but I became emotional again watching you two see it. I noticed that you responded to the same parts as I did and I think that shows that we respond as humans regardless of location or history or culture to genuine human emotion. God bless you and God save the King.

Thank you both, it's so kind of you to be so respectful & thoughtful to do this. I think that QE was the world's Queen really, she met, I believe 15 or 16 of your Presidents & definitely was selfless. Personally I think Charles will make a good King as his rough edges have been rubbed off over the years & he's mellowed a lot. Natasha - impressed you knew the Shakespeare reference, I didn't when I first heard it! We only did Macbeth & Midsummer Night's Dream at School. To sign-off on a QE quote which has come to me a lot recently is 'Grief is the price we pay for love'. Thank you again. xx

That speech, and indeed the loss of the Queen has affected most people here in the UK, many did not expect the effects of her death and the aftermath to touch them emotionally at all and speak with surprise that it has.

I think everyone was moved by The King's speech, even republicans. He nailed it! People in pubs stopped talking to watch it and broke in to applause at the end. It was a celebration of The Queens life and a look forward to the future

Thank you so much that was lovely. I’ve seen his speech several times and every time I cry. Your kindness, respect and sympathy means so much. It is strange getting used to calling him King Charles rather than Prince Charles. Lots of new readers have also slipped up and I guess we all will for some time to come. Also the change to the national anthem as well. Again thank you and God Save The King 👑
