@@TheNatashaDebbieShow A tip: The German discounter ALDI (also in the USA available) sells Bahlsen cookies hidden under another name much cheaper. Many discounters in Germany take brand-products in their assortment (Corbell soup, Müller Yoghurt, Dickmann's chocolate-kisses, Feldschlösschen beer etc) and sell them cheaper in another packacking and with another name (price differentiation).

Hi Natasha and Debbie, thank you for making this video. I'm from the Netherlands and I live only 5 km away from the German border. Since German shops are a little cheaper compared to our Dutch grocery stores we often go accross the border to do our shopping. That's why I was horrified when you started showing the price tags at Jungle Jim's. Most prices are at least twice what we would pay for those items here and a lot of what you showed went up over 4 or 5 times what we would pay here. For instance the sausages for 12,99 would cost 3,49 here. I have made the bee sting cake myself not long ago and it is a very easy recipy to make. It is basically two layers of cake with a layer of cream in between topped by almond shavings which have been covered in Honey. Keep making these great videos and perhaps visit some Dutch topics in the future haha.

Yes, most prices are 2x of the German store, like Milka chocolate 100g costing $2 and below 1€ on regular sales. The big cookies mix bag is just 2€ in Germany and sells for $8 over there. Transport costs are really expensive. The sausages looked like a much bigger glas than in Germany, that size might costs 5€ here.

Dear ladies, the shelves in your supermarket look exactly like ours. Come to Germany at last. The flights from Cincinnati to Frankfurt are not that expensive. But remember, Cincinnati is at the same geographical latitude as Lisbon, where it is unbearably hot in summer (for me). In my hometown of Munich, which is about the same latitude as Seattle, it is much cooler. So if you fly to Germany, come in summer or autumn, June to October if possible. At 14:09: Händlmaier ist the one and only Mustard for "Weißwurst" (= Bavarian White Sausage). At 14:51: At 15:51 Debbie has the typical Bavarian white sausage in her hand. We eat this as a snack in the morning. Heat the white sausage carefully (don't boil it!), add Händlmaier mustard, an Erdinger Weissbier and a pretzel. That's it. At 22:07: Pilsner (Jever, Pilsner Urquell) is too bitter for me personally, but I like Weihenstephaner, Erdinger Weissbier and Paulaner. It is produced a mile away from me. Be careful with Einbecker-Bock because those beers have more alcohol than other beers. It is interesting that all beers are sold in glass bottles. What do you do with the empty bottles? In Germany there is a deposit on every bottle and we return every bottle to the retailer.

*Beer is like music a matter of personal taste & preferences. So for me, the beer must be from Bavaria....no Weißbier, but Augustiner Helles, Augustiner Edelstoff, Isar Bio-Helles, Isar Bio-Radler [ not Isarkindl...].., Riedenburger Brauhaus Dolden Null [ in the Summer is "non-alcoholic" quite pleasant...] ....* 🍺😎

The selection in this shop is really good - almost a complete german supermarket with a lot of good brands (Landliebe, Darbo, Rothaus, ...), but the pricetags are hefty - I'd say about 2-3 times more expensive than in a supermarket in germany. But on the other hand German groceries are fairly cheap in germany compared to other countries, and importing it half way around the globe does not make things cheaper. If you have not tried Rothaus Bier ("Tannenzäpfle", meaning "little pinecone") try it, it's really good beer from the black forrest region. It was a very trendy brand in southern Germany for years, but it faded a bit. Good beer still, though.

No matter where Haribo might 'say' they manufacture them, there is nothing whatsoever German about Pontefract Cakes (or 'Pomfret Cakes' as they were traditionally known.) They originate from Pontefract (near Wakefield,) in West Yorkshire. Liquorice was grown in and around Pontefract in years gone by, (from around the 16th century,) and eventually factories sprung up to process the liquorice, and though no liquorice is still grown on a commercial scale, two factories still remain: one owned by Haribo, and one owned by Valeo Confectionery.

German pancakes are not difiicult to make and taste waaaay better that way. Same gos for Kaiserschmarrn and other things... They're mostly poor people's food (back in the day), so they are generally easy to make and only use a couple of ingredients...

Hi you two 😊 Memories came alive during this video. We used to live in Pittsburgh and there was a year where my then husband lived in Kentucky and every time we would drive to visit him we would of course go thru Cincinnati. On our way home we would always stop at Jungle Jims and stock up on stuff from Germany (we are German). Absolutely loved the store! Of course the prices are a lot higher but you can't forget that it comes from Germany and it has to go through customs. Btw I am a new Patron of yours! Can't wait to connect with you that way. Oh and I live back in Germany now Much love to you 🤗🥰

Hela Curry Ketchup, a must have. Belongs in every good household. I also buy the same mustard because of the jars. We used to drink from them when we were kids. It's good for beer or white wine, now 🤪 And the Bee sting is a very good cake. You should bake it

German food is amazing. There's a German restaurant in the hills near me that used to do a really nice traditional German feast. It's been closed for renovations for a few years but still serves take-away hot drinks and toasted sandwiches.

Hey Ladies 🙂THX for showing us such a nice Grocery Store! Looks like a Thema Park! I bet entering it with kids is "dangerous" ;-) Saw so many things that mames my hips wider and wider ;-) But, like you mentioned: THE PRICES ARE 😱 I know, import costs, shipping etc... But over 10 (!)$ for Nürnberger Milkchocolat?! Here you have it for 2€, or 7,89$ for some Waffle Mix, price here: At a Discount Market maybe under2€? Visited Florida this year and my thought was: HOW MUCH you must Earn to survive here? ;-) And, we Germans (typical) nag about our prices...

As A German I got a little shock, seeing the prices: Speci, Mezzo Mix - less than a Euro (approx 79ct per can) but mostly sold as 1.25liter Bottles for less than 1.5€. Haribo are now expensive (175g - about 1€) was way cheaper before the pandemic (360g - for about 1,19€) - Ok I life next to the Haribo Headquarter and can buy at their Factory Outlet 6KG for 15€ 🙂

Keep in mind that those products are imported products where they live. Its the same with original us products in our supermarkets. (reeses, etc.)

@@anashiedler6926 Haribo produces in the US for the North American market. Hershey (Reeses, M&Ms etc.) produces in UAE for the European Market. A 400g (14,1 oz) bag of peanut M&Ms is 3,99 € in Germany and 10,05 oz (285 g) bag on the US-M&Ms-website is 5,99 $... So even typical US-products are way cheaper in Germany. Two Reeses cups are 0,99 € in Germany, a package of 4 Reeses Cups are 1,99 $ on the Hershey's US-website. So it's nearly the same price per piece in Germany and the US.

@@jurgenmuck3102 i am not sure if jungle jim uses the american produced products, i heard that this store is quite proud on all the imported stuff, so they seem to have imported haribo, and not the us produced ones. There are similar markets here in europe, where you can get the "real" reeses that are produced in the u.s. and have big "imported" stamps/stickers on them. - and are much more expensive than the ones you can get in the supermarkets .

@@anashiedler6926 At least the Haribo gummi bear bags are English branded in the video. "Gold Bears" is readable clearly. If it has been imported from Germany it would be "Goldbären".

Fantastic, superb! I LOVED this! Please take us back here to another section, or elsewhere. I find American shops to be an absolute wonderland of interesting stuff. Please take us out and about in your area sometimes. Restaurant, takeout, street food, a shopping centre, park, theme park, graveyard anything! We’d like to learn about where you live too! Fantastically wonderful video.

Germany here. Nice selection you got there but the prices are crazy (but i guess that´s because these are exotic imports 😅) ....some of the varieties I´ve never seen in Germany but I can imagine they also produce a lot specifically for the US market and US taste buds ^^ Btw @Natasha ...if you like Marzipan give the Mozart Kugeln a try...those are my personal favourites (the brand `Reber` has the best - but not shure if the maeket has them didn´t see them in the video) ...a flavour tsunami on the tongue 🙃 enjoy .... and when do you guys finally come over to experience it all first hand for yourselves? 🥳

I thought it was a theme park at first. OMG, it's ginormous. Not many people are in there, though. I'd have to check out every aisle. It would probably take a week 😮 Love the houses and buildings you showed on your journey to Jungle Jim's. Cincinnati looks lovely. ❤
