Unfortunately in the uk we do have noise pollution. It’s a thing if some is making to much noise and it reads a certain amount of decibels you can be fined and if it keeps happening you can get a asbo. Anti social behaviour order.

Regarding one of the clips, noise pollution is a thing and it basically means a large amount of noise causes a disturbance similar to “normal pollution” but this time it’s in the form of noise rather than visible smoke.

I work as a hgv delivery driver on nights and noise pollution orders are a pain but quite justified. Not allowed to deliver before 7 am weekdays and 8 am weekends, but only if housing is really close to the delivery point.

@ 4:20 I kind of sympathise with that woman complaining about noise pollution. One thing that drives me nuts about living in town in the UK (and in Europe in general) is that due to population density it can be difficult to get some peace and quiet at times. It's been scientifically proven that constant noise has adverse affects on health (animals as well as humans) but there seems to be no escaping it. Also some people are more sensitive to noise than others so have a lower threshold for tolerance.

Yeah I live in a block of flats in the middle of everyone. My upstairs neighbours are the worst when it comes to noise. They don’t care what time it is! They have had many complaints and they just ignore them. So when there is noise outside it is a stress. But I know works has to be done. Thankfully I found Happy Ears earplugs to help block out the majority of the noise!

@@ItsAlwaysTime4Tea Same here. I live in a flat too and my upstairs neighbours are a nightmare. Sometimes making din until 4 or 5 in the morning. There have been a number of complaints from other neighbours including people in the houses next to us and things have improved a little (no more insanely wild parties every weekend) but I get the worse of it. I've had difficulty with earplugs. I have small ear canals so finding ones that fit, don't cause irritation (am allergic to various things) and have a high SNR rating has been challenging. I've found a brand that works well but I need a break from them from time to time due to soreness and irritation. So on those nights I don't sleep very well, get woken up with door slamming at 4 a.m. then builders show up at 8 a.m. at the neighbouring properties to start work. It's never ending. On those days I become a Karen too just like the person in the video! I see it this way: if I have no choice but to tolerate their noise they can tolerate my Karenness from time to time. LOL!

Lol these are brill. The lady shouting about noise pollution is actually right. We do have noise pollution laws and on a Sunday no work is permitted before 9am unless deemed to be an emergency. Mon- fri its 8am - 6pm, Saturday is 8-1pm and sunday 9-2pm. The guys actually admitted they were working at 8am so unless its for structural reasons that could cause imminent danger to the house owner or neighbour then yes, they are breaking the law.

That “Karen” isn’t really a Karen, she is 100% correct in all she is saying. In the UK a tradesmen making any noise in a residential area must start work after 8am and finish by 6pm on a weekday. On a Saturday the hours are 8am until 1pm and on Sunday and Bank holidays no work can be done by workmen/women. A person is aloud to do DIY, but as long as any noise starts after 10am. The guys on the roof are risking their boss getting a big fine for breaking Noise pollution laws. I worked in Berlin Germany are the Police will arrest you and give you a very big fine if you work on building sites in the city or residential area on a Sunday..

Noise pollution is absolutely a thing in the UK, and does have consequences. It is also wide ranging to encompass things like parties at unsociable hours, which could also fall under anti social behaviour... however, working on a roof at 8am on a Sunday is not something that would be considered a breach of noise pollution laws.

To be fair to the annoying Karen, commercial workmen are not allowed to conduct noisy ‘ tooled work on a Sunday, at any time. Unless it was an absolute emergency. So they were at risk of having their tools removed and fined under noise abatement act. But you I think they would only really come into play if it was an ongoing thing and the whole neighbour hood was pissed. I think in this situation, had plod arrived then I think she would get a talking to and the builders reminded of laws.
