First thing that came to mind was that Carolina doggys have rings of power not from Mordor but from the side of light, unlike the "leaders" of the realm we inhabit. They are special and all dogs seem to have some of that. Mines name is Baily, we didn't name her that, my granddaughter started calling her "Baywee", so that's actually her name.
