It happened subtly, but Korea changed me! I'm sure other expats have similar experiences in their adopted countries. What do you all think?!

How are you? 🖐 You forget something important! Korea's advanced system and welfare have been achieved by Koreans with blood and sweat. It is a system for Koreans and not for foreigners. Don't be mistaken. Koreans think of you as shameless thieves.

I love how you love SK. I'm a 2nd Gen Korean American. I never learned korean bc my mom was afraid of Joe McCarthy at the time and all the recent Korean immigrants wanted their kids to "go American" like 100%. Same for Russian, Ferman, Czech, etc immigrants. No one wanted to be labeled a commie. Now there's dual language instruction in elementary school where I live near LA and there's over 35 kids in the Korean class just in one grade. I'm so jealous. I'm taking korean lessons now and I hope to stay in Korea a few months in the spring. I hope you'll still be there. I'd love to meet up with expats living in Korea. I will absolutely be meeting Koreans and practicing Korean. I mean it's about time, am I right? Thanks for your content.

Rice is life. A meal without banchan is incomplete. I think you are comfortable with your spending is because you have the discipline to live within your means. I know many high income individuals (doctors) here in the US that live paycheck to paycheck because they try to flex on people and money just slips thru their fingers.

Wow, I can't believe you have been living in Korea for fourteen years. That is really a long time. That is something else!! You really must like living there. Many foreigners who have been living a long time in Korea say they just feel very convenient and comfortable and now they feel they can no longer live elsewhere. Do you also feel this way too?? Btw you look really good for your age Francoise. I remember you said you are 41 years of age. I thought you were in your mid-thirties! Nice~

@mapuche88814 күн бұрын
Actually it was Sardinia in particular I was thinking of where one of the five blue zones in the world is located. I loved Spain but I understand Italians are warmer than Spaniards and people make a huge difference.. unfortunately all through Europe right-wing fascist parties are gaining a small foothold in governments and that is worrisome. South Korea has a very strong democracy and they are under no Illusions who their enemies and their friends are unlike some pockets, sometimes large pockets, of the US population. Again worrisome. But like Sardinia South Korea has beautiful places to walk and hike, ancient histories, marketplaces to buy fresh food and a strong Coffee Culture. I still plan to visit Sardinia and do the 100 Towers hike around the entire Island. But it's time I got to know South Korea since I can't go to North Korea where my mom came from

What about taking off your shoes when you're at home or indoors at other people's homes?

I forgot about that one because it has become second nature lol. I don't even understand how or why we would wear shoes indoors in the US lol. It's so weird!

I know! So many cultures practice shoes off inside and when I see ppl with their shoes on, especially on carpet, I am taken aback. All you have to do is think about where the bottoms of your shoes have been and what they've touched and why would you want that on your floors? I wish my dogs had shoes to take off

Uhhn, uhhn... Uhhn, uhhn... But seriously, there's something beautiful about not worrying about prices before you pay for daily things. It's crazy how much stress that releases... Yet, here in the US, every time I get sick or need to go to the hospital, I severely worry if it's worth getting medical care because of the cost... Or just stay home and try to deal with it. Every video you put out, makes me want to move to Seoul!!
@francoismarc3Ай бұрын

Time to get a citizenship! Which sports do you play? Buying a luggage mere difference of $14 between stores isn't for scamming. It's just due to where they source their stuff.

Hey! Hmmm, I don't know if it's scamming or not, but when I haggle, they usually drop the price a lot. But then I go to another store and the price I haggled for is the normal price at the new store hahaha

In before some canadians say it's free in canada, it's indeed free to get mri in canada, but you have to wait 6 month to 1 year to get mri. It can be faster in some places, but in general you always have to give considerable amount of wait time to get mri. Some cancer patients died while waiting to see specialists.
