I grew up in Fall River, and 100 years ago we were the textile manufacturing capital of the USA. Those mills are closed now, but it’s amazing to have people like Frank Clegg who still care about that tradition and make world-class quality goods. Thanks for highlighting this!

Bought my first piece from FC recently. I don’t regret it at all. I don’t think I’ll have 10 or 15 Frank Clegg pieces in my wardrobe the way I can with Filson and other brands, but the one I do have is definitely my pride and joy. I’ve never let anybody I disagree with dissuade me from supporting artisans that I like just because they share similar taste.

@@Stridewise Haha, that Fall River/New Bedford accent totally grates on my nerves. I'm glad I never picked it up! Does remind me of home though.

Fk yea it's worth it. The guy uses a tonne of leather, every edge is painted or polished, everything is lined, all the materials and hardware are top notch, but most importantly he has decades of experience in making elegant, practical, and ultimate succesful designs that work well and age even better. He is lucky to be able to charge a fair price because most leatherworkers can't.

100% on supporting made in USA businesses. The company still preserves its values and vision. Treat his employees well , and his business model allows him to sell the high caliber bags at a fair price .

I have a tall working tote that serves every role from casual briefcase to my dang reusable shopping bag. I'm trying to figure out what tannery they use... It ~might~ be haas, but idk?

I asked but they said it was a secret!

@@Stridewise I know it is... That doesn't mean I can't figure it out. I know what certifications they have, I know it's French, and I know they're exclusively using veg tanning. Narrows it down quite a bit.

Briefcases look nice but none have outer compartments for easy access, no outer/trolley sleeve to attach to your luggage, and no stilts on bottom so your bag will get scuffed when you put it down. For $1,450, I expect more.
@socobbb4 ай бұрын
Many of his briefcases have full length outside pockets on both sides(very discrete). They offer four different luggage mechanisms that can be added to their designs for small fee. For the caliber of the bag, it is a fair price. It could cost double at a high end store ,Easily .
