Despite the "happy" tone, this song is about a global catastrophe, "the end of the world", the "start of a world war". Lyrics are meant to represent cynicism and indifference while the end is approaching. The song is very original in its spirit imho and contains some memorable lines. The girl sings about feeling overwhelmed by a "social vertigo" (the huge distance between social classes) while she is sitting in a club having a chocolate drink, and "the world war" starts while she keeps on reading a stupid magzine. The end of the world is the "perfect carousel" and triggers her lust for party. The planet is going to disappear in silence and within a "general crisis" and she sends loving kisses, and so on.

Sanremo festival is the father of Eurovision, those who partecipate care about the festival not about Eurovision. The fact that the winner goes to ESC is just a further option. No one here writes songs for sanremo thinking about their impact at Eurovision. Italian music does not work this way. We have our tastes and when italian singers cross the borders is simply a consequence of this coherence..

Fun fact: at some point she says "con le gambe, con il culo, coi miei occhi, ciao", and it literally means "with my legs, with my butt, with my eyes, goodbye!". It was everyone's highlight of Sanremo 2022.

SanRemo since 1951 it’s probably the oldest national song contest. To partecipate it’s already a goal for a singer that must to be famous or with a big hit or winner of a previous contest for young artist called SanRemo giovani. Songs must to be unreleased and last 5 nights. During that week in Italy everybody talk about it even who doesn’t care.

Sanremo Festival is the "Festival of the Italian Song", all the songs should be in Italian and original never played before. Many artists submit their songs to a commission within a deadline and 24 to 26 are selected to participate. Because the competition is focused on the song not only the performers are mentioned but also the authors of music and lyrics when each song is presenred during the first 2 nights of the kermesse. The Tuesday and Wednesday (usually first week of February) of the week are performed all the songs for the very first time half the first and the rest the second evenibg, then all radios go ahead to air all the songs for promotion. On thursday all the songs are performed. Friday is the night of duets, all the artist perform an old song together with a prestigious guest. Saturday is the night of the finale that goes on until late at night. Each evening different jury/ies vote on saturday all votes are summed although in different proportion (i.e. televote weights as 50% of votes, diff. percentage is press jury, demoscopic jury, etc). On Saturday many awards are assigned, best compostion, best lyrics, special awards for singer songwriters etc. In addition to the main one of winning the contest. The winner is also offered the priviledge to represent Italy at the Eurovision song contest but the artist is free to refuse to go in which case the offer is passed to the run up and so on. Usually Italian songs are not typical Eurovision sons just because they are written for the Sanremo festival rules and taste, they are often lknger than the 3mins top requested by Eurovision and need to be shortened for such contest and are always in Italian. Sanremo festival is not a talent show which means the makority of artist attending are quite established ones.

The arrangement and production are good like you said, the message within the lyrics is interesting and the bassline is great! Plus, her voice is fantastic, you should hear her live. 3:28 This year there were 25 artists competing. La Rappresentante di Lista is a duo. It's her, plus the guitarist with a sailor hat kind of, in this video. Sanremo = "Festival di Sanremo", also known as "Il Festival della Canzone Italiana" it is held every year since 1951. Eurovision was created is 1956 based on it but with artists all around Europe while for our Festival we can also have foreign artists but the song must be in Italian so most of the time they go for a duet with an Italian singer. It's divided in 5 nights, in the middle there is a "cover night" where the songs can be in different languages. The last night they all sing (it's a loooong night!) and after a combination of voting (don't ask me to be more specific about that...) just three of them can actually compete for the victory. Other prizes are handed out (best lyrics, best arrangement, music composition and so on) before the winner is announced.

Sanremo is not a competition for Eurovision. Sanremo is the festival of Italian song and not always the winner of sanremo participates in Eurovision

Sanremo is the most old italian singing show. It's very important for a singer to touch that stage as they are in eurovision, in streaming on all Europe. Now, the eurovision word comes out as different countries used to stream in Europe different contents for different audiences. All European citizens could so stream without geographic restrictions their important show, from all around Europe. Sanremo was one of the 1st singing shows transmitted in eurovision streaming. Now, the word Eurovision means "the Eurovision show" or, the destination of the streaming if used like "transmitted in eurovision", it depends how you use it. Now quickly just to give you an idea, you can consider Sanremo (for adults) and the Zecchino d'oro (for children) as the most important singing shows we have in Italy. Metaphorically talking they work like 2 grandmothers for singers. They represent history, fashion, tradition, bel canto roots and so on.

I can recommend Michele Bravi - Inverno dei fiori, he was also a contestant at Sanremo this year and that was my favorite song, I really hoped he’d win! Another great song by him(although he has a lot of them) is Mantieni il bacio, if you watch the music video you won’t even need an english translation because it hits you right in the feels
