Cool video! I've lived in Philadelphia my entire life, and this is the first time I've ever seen the pretzel-making process from start to finish. I now know how the owner got such toned arms. My Aunt Blanche's family owned Federal Pretzel company at 7th & Federal (the Pretzel factory) in South Philly. As a kid I'd go in the back and watch the women (5 on each side of a conveyor belt) twist the pretzels and then right in the oven they'd go!

It’s been decades since I’ve had a good pretzel! The last one I got was at the Philadelphia airport, and it was lacking. When I was in first grade, there was a pretzel vendor who would stop by the school at recess, and sell us pretzels for 5 cents! They were sooooo good and usually warm. One of my fondest memories.

When cinnabon's first came out they were sold at the rest stop on the NJ turnpike near the Cranberry exit. My bff & I did stupid stuff all the time & decided we would go get one..so what we thought would be a short trip from Bayonne turned out to be 142 mile trip...I bought cinnabon's for everyone

These are hardly the best pretzel in Philly. The extruding process at 1:50 makes them too dense. While they are fine, a hand twisted pretzel, which is more labor intense, makes a better pretzel. And please don't question me...I am almost 60, and know my soft pretzels in the Philly area.
