Cool video! I've lived in Philadelphia my entire life, and this is the first time I've ever seen the pretzel-making process from start to finish. I now know how the owner got such toned arms. No gym membership needed here. Now I'm craving a soft pretzel fresh out of the oven. I'll take mine with spicy mustard, please! 😉

My Aunt Blanche's family owned Federal Pretzel company at 7th & Federal (the Pretzel factory) in South Philly. As a kid I'd go in the back and watch the women (5 on each side of a conveyor belt) twist the pretzels and then right in the oven they'd go!

Usually when you work with a particular food item you usually don't eat that item because you see it and work with it every day you kind of get sick of it but she's in shape because of the way she was working it was nonstop moving those pretzels

It’s been decades since I’ve had a good pretzel! The last one I got was at the Philadelphia airport, and it was lacking. When I was in first grade, there was a pretzel vendor who would stop by the school at recess, and sell us pretzels for 5 cents! They were sooooo good and usually warm. One of my fondest memories.

crazy good memory is coming out of concerts at the Spectrum back in the day and buying a few from the vendors outside to munch on the ride home. usually kinda stale but I was all buzzed from the show so it didn't really matter...

@@bulldogbrower6732No not German it's from the swedes these are Swedish style pretzels. They were brought by the Swedes to Philadelphia in the early 1600s. I was born and raised just blocked from center City pretzels!

When cinnabon's first came out they were sold at the rest stop on the NJ turnpike near the Cranberry exit. My bff & I did stupid stuff all the time & decided we would go get one..so what we thought would be a short trip from Bayonne turned out to be 142 mile trip...I bought cinnabon's for everyone

I Eat these at Sports events, breakfast, snacks. Only ever use plain yellow mustard. if its too salty knock some salt off. Its chewy, just 1 makes a breakfast. At 50c its a good breakfast.
