Task Force were a heavyweight of UK hip hop since early 00's kinda times, for me they are one of the groups of UK rappers that really defined the UK hip hop sound ( not so much grime). The late 90's early 00's saw a lot of good UK hip artists , but many of them did not last, Task Force did, and Chester P's voice to me is quite Iconic and really takes me back to the early 00's. Around this time you had UK hip hop acts (in some cases) not sure how to use the UK accent, many MC's would do some kind of US /UK blend, peeps like Task Force really embraced the accent and used it, I would say they were one of the first to do this and actually gain large scale success Thing is there were good UK acts before this that embraced the UK accent, but they never got as a big as Task Force did before, guys like Roots Manuva around teh same time as well, another who got big embracing the UK accent

Chester is from the pre-grime era of hip hop, where the sound borrows from the NYC sound. He's different with it, probably the greatest lyricist to come from the UK.

One of the illest to ever to do it. An incredible emcee. He doesn't really do his off the top freestyles anymore but he was a beast at freestyling of the top as well. Funny story is when you say not to judge a book by its cover Chester P had that same reaction when he first entered battles. The crowd thought he wasnt the real deal and he then he would slay the competition. He actually battled common as well on stage when common did a show in the UK and even though his modest and says it wasn't that good those that witnessed it say he tore Common up.
