Hi Emma, I am so proud of you for deciding to only keep the dolls that are special to you. It is hard selling dolls. They get under our skin and feel like family. I was supposed to be selling my Corinne and Gwynn Tan dolls but I just can’t do it yet. I had them listed but took the ad down. My collection is historicals but she was the first one I ever bought brand new from the store so she is truly my doll. I have sold some thrift finds like yourself. I sold a lovely Saige that I fixed up as well as a Blair and duplicate Samantha. I also fixed up an early JLY doll and gave her to my sister. Thanks for giving the dolls you’ve loved and lost their due credit. Good idea to focus on accessories instead. For me I would like to collect more historical clothing. 😊

I hope your journey of collecting historical clothing is filled with lots of goodies and fun surprises Cheryl !💗I definitely had to give them one last spotlight it only felt like the right thing to do 😊selling dolls is hard because they definitely are apart of my family especially when they were TLC and I bring them back to life. It’s a bittersweet moment but when you know it’s time to let go you just know someone else will cherish them more (:

Hey! We did a similar video topic :) I think it's fun to tell (and listen to) all the reasons we *don't* end up keeping a certain doll in our collection. Ppl might make inaccurate assumptions about why we part with our dolls and the real story is often interesting. And hopefully it helps some ppl feel more okay with following suit if the need to. Great video!

I love that you're making your collection what you want it to be, Emma. I've sold 6 dolls over the years and I feel good about most of them. The only one I think about here and there is Mia, as she is such a unique girl and I no longer have a classic mold in my collection. Kristie from AG Takes Over said she watched an "All My Dolls" video recently that was formatted in 3 parts: 1) new dolls, 2) dolls that are no longer in the collection and 3) dolls that were in the last All My Dolls video. She really likes that and is going to do her next one in that format. I think that's the perfect way to do it, as you only have to watch the beginning if you just want the updates, or you can watch the whole thing. Looking forward to seeing your next video!

what a great video, Emma! I love the way you reminisced about each doll that has left your collection, and the very good advice you give re: not simply acquiring dolls because they were a good deal, but because they add something special and unique to your collection. I had purchased a very beat up Kanani and sent her to the doll hospital - they replaced her head AND her arms & legs because the vinyl color didn't match! So I basically got a brand new Kanani for only $65! I hope you find the perfect Kanani soon. ironically, I had just come home from purchasing a huge doll bundle including two older Truly Me dolls and clothes for $50. I plan to sell one of them, plus some of the duplicate clothing items that were in the bundle. I do appreciate the advice to be financially responsible - that's definitely an important life lesson!!

I believe that you had a lot of courage to realize to give away some of your dolls. Given that you had a lot of them and didn't love all of them at the same way, I'd never realize to separate myself from my ones: I agree that I currently have only four A.G. dolls (I live in Europe and for me they are really expensive, due of the shipping fee), but I feel a deep true affection for them, for me they are as real daugthers... and I am planning to get another (probably a dark skinned one) within the current year. I wish you to go on to enjoy the dolls you still have and in your heart there could be enogh place for all of them. Bye.

Hi Emma! I loved the video and I can totally relate! I mainly collect GOTY and historical dolls. My first doll was MAG 27 who used to be my look alike. She is still very special to me and I would never sell her but I don’t see myself getting more Truly Me’s. I have sold my Blaire doll, who was defective and I never truly bonded with her, TM 81 who I also lost interest in, and Joss, who I regretted selling afterwards but then I bought a lot on EBay and the seller included extra dolls and one of them was Joss so I decided to keep her and add her back to my collection. I also love to fix up, restore, and resell dolls so I have sold several more, but the intention was always on selling them. I have also been trying to focus on keeping dolls that I want rather than collecting every single doll. For example, I have Kanani through Lea minus Isabelle and I thought about getting an Isabelle to complete the 2011-2016 collection, but I feel like she wouldn’t bring much to my collection. Also I don’t have the space for that 😂 I will say I want a Sonali mold in my collection but idk what Sonali mold doll yet and it would have to be the older version.

I was thinking of either #62 or Cecile actually, maybe I’ll get both someday, I would love Marie Grace as well, and that will be two new face molds I don’t have. Since I primarily collect character dolls the only thing I’m not sure about is coming up with names or personalities for truly me dolls. Do you have any tips for that?? 😊

Hi, I don’t have so many dolls either, like 15 😊 and I totally understand that sometimes one or another needs to leave one’s collection. Me I’ve only sold one doll and I have another one to sell. Both of them because of hair problems 🙃 Sometimes even if the hair is washed and “repaired” it just don’t look right.

Exactly that , and I’m someone who wants my dolls to always look perfect lol. Sometimes I even get annoyed with my precise I want them to look but then I remeber their my dolls and if I want them to look/dress a certain way I should be able to without feeling bad about it(:

My Kanani was in rough shape and I finally sent her off because she was my first ag doll so I couldn’t sell her. I got a head replacement and also made sure they kept her limbs and she turned out great! It was hard to let go of the original face mold but it was worth it

I feel the way about my.Caroline that you do about Kanani. Caroline's hair keeps frizzing no matter how much I mist the top of her head and smooth away the frizz. I kind of want a new head for my Caroline with better hair. I don't think the doll hospital has them anymore?

So they actually do have Caroline’s head although I’ve seen how she comes back from the doll hospital it’s definitely not as long or curly as her original wig, so you may want to look into finding the older version of caroline secondhand

Had a doll, she had brown eyes, I can't remember her #, but I took off her wig and made a wig for her from a human wig with tiny dreadlocks. It came out pretty good and I dressed her always in black. Then we moved and downsized, sold her and now she haunts me.

I actually did try this but I wasn’t happy with her hair this way either because the curls didn’t look like her original curls and wouldn’t last as long
