The problem with American Hat Company is that they refuse to list their prices on their various models which makes it impossible for you to settle on a decision to buy.

Great interview and looks like an awesome store. I have a few hats, but unfortunately I never see guys wearing them where I live in the north. Working on my confidence so I don't get made fun of when I do wear one of my hats. Consider yourselves fortunate to live in Texas where you're in good company when wearing a cowboy hat. I completely understand. I live in Massachusetts and it took me until I was almost 40 to have the confidence to wear my cowboy hats everywhere. Now I find that I get more compliments than anything else. Wear em proud

in back of your counter you should have those thick rubber mats used it restaurants to absorb stress from standing in one position all day.

Wow, I haven't been to their new location, definitely bigger than their last building. I definitely need to stop by there sometime. The hat I got from them is shaped fantastically! haha yeah pronouncing cities is a tell of where you are from. Buda is pronounced Bew-da. manor is main-er. A contentious one is San Marcos is san marc-us. and there is only one s in New Braunfels I always go for open crown to get the shape I want and be able to re shape it if i want.

Great place, Emilio does a fantastic job and really has the passion to make sure your hat is what you want. It’s so hard to find good shapers, I love visiting all these guys, even if I can’t pronounce where they are. 🤣 I been trying to get the rest of the video out, but we moved to Fort Worth and it’s been super busy around here. I inherited an old Stetson with a huge 5” crown. Is there a shape/style/way to shape it so the crown is closer to 4-3/16” or 4-5/8”?

Out of curiosity what kind of steam system is used to shape these hats?

A Hoffman cabinet steamer, they can run $2,000-8,000 depending on options such as auto fill.

@@eagledan31 it’s a pretty interesting look, I never thought about it before. It’s something we do to the brick, just never thought about it before seeing it. We did it for Lionel at CBHWLE on a 20x and now he wants it on all his hats. The evergreen has become one of my favorite hats, shape included.

If you are going to interview one of your best local hat retailers, you should probably know in advance how to pronounce the name of the town. That interviewer reminds me of one of the weatherman on the National Weather channel and a scene from one of my favorite movies 'Spinal Tap'.
