OMG, a sheriff's dept. can afford to operate a Puma, I guess Im so out of touch with aviation, but I really can't imagine a mission profile where on a full time basis, they need such a large expensive aircraft.

I know this is an old comment...But not only do we have a Super Puma, we have like THREE of them. And they use them all the time. Almost a daily basis they are pulling out lost hikers or vehicles over the side of a mountain. Since we are the only ones in the county that have one, the other 45 agencies also request it.
