The bases of this season it's based on a real colony that dissappead on North Carolina, the colony it's known as The Roanoke colony. The only thing that this colony left behind was a word: CROATOAN. Ryan Murphy is using that and being creative

Am I the only one who finds this season funny with the way the documentary is acted? I laugh constantly because it sounds so ridiculous and accurate for biography shows. Roanoke Colony- yeah google it. It’s some part of history we never learned in school. Actually, I believe every season is based on some basic facts of American History just exaggerated.

You're right. The 5th season of AHS called Hotel was based on a real murder hotel. 'The location is loosely based on the Cecil Hotel, marked by deaths and tragedies'

Season one the black dahlia was a real person they just made up there own story about her, same season two with Anne frank, same season 3 with madame Delphine Laurie and Marie leveling, same season 4 with Edward morale, same season 5 with all them at devils night.. and the legend of the lost colony of Roanoke is real they just made it there own story in ahs.
