I get that La Laurie was racist obviously, but even being black myself I get the feeling that it went a little beyond just racism and hating blacks. That was a given. I get the feeling it was more of having an insatiable sadistic urge to torture and marvel at the human bodies' reaction and content. Slaves were just unrelatable objects like an alley cat to the neighborhood psycho kid. Imagine the temptation since no one noticed for awhile or gave a shit. Add to that any pinned up frustrations and resentments of being a women with no true power in a society of men other than that of which you hold over slave people. I think people should describe it more than just racist because they're black. She was a sadistic serial killer and they were great targets. But I know that deep resentment and fear flamed her general hate for them.

They portrayed papa legba as evil when he’s really not.

I went on a haunted tour in Louisiana and actually went to the rebuilt LaLaurie Manor and when they did discover those atrocities that were occurring, they removed the slaves and burned the house down. But Delphine actually escaped to Paris, she wasn’t buried alive...

@@mysticalfox4546 its cool but unfortunately its veeeery touristy. if youve never been to nola its worth checking out but there are better botanicas/etc if you do actually practice voodoo or hoodoo/rootwork. I highly suggest Haus of Hoodoo.

You used the term black magic incorrectly. Practitioners of voodoo practice white magic. Black magic is only practiced by very limited number of bokor.. of which a voodoo priestess would not be

Wouldn't Lalaurie have been cajun, not creole since she was descended from the French acadians??
@beev50493 жыл бұрын
Exactly
@magiciansalchemist36933 жыл бұрын
Creole didn't Always mean Black or Mixed French Heritage is was Originally meant for Anyone born on Any French Soil or Territory. So Yes You Could be a WW who is Creole. Not only "Baby Paris" as New Orleans was called at the Time. Places like Guadeloupe etc.

The person who they are saying is portrayed as Papa Legba is actually portraying Baron Samedi (I hope im spelling it right) a common misconception.

I live in Louisiana. An hour and a half away from New Orleans. I’ve walked in front of the lalaurie mansion and I’ve got some pics of some weird stuff. It was at night when I took them too. Just standing in front of that house gave me chills knowing what happened there. I didn’t see anything while I was there, however I did capture some things in my pics. It’s now for sale for 10 million I believe. I wouldn’t not want to live there.
