I love seeing people make things their own. For me, I'm not a fan of this one, but I can see the appeal. To me it looks like your car was originally red and was repainted.

Corvettes are pretty much done as is but we do like our "bling". Good to see you post here again.

$500? Ouch. I think you're right about certain parts of the engine bay looking "unfinished." I think the passenger side is notably bad. At least the driver's side has a few largish gizmos to attract your gaze: brake master, coolant overflow, clutch master, etc. The passenger side has those heater & AC hoses made of different materials and then that rat's nest of wires. You only have two large eye-magnets: battery (in my case I have the snazzy Optima Yellow) and the very 40's-noir fuse & relay box. The point of junction between the body & the inner fender? THAT has never bothered me even a little bit. $500 though? That seems a bit over market, even accounting for the "Corvette tax." I like the idea of cleaning up the look of the engine bay, but for the minimal, and subjective, improvement in this product provides, I think the $500 could be spent elsewhere. There's almost an unlimited amount of things you can modify and customize to make the C6 "your own." Perhaps you've hit that wall where you've done everything you can do and now you're scrounging for modification projects, but I am definitely not there yet. Personally, I'm looking to put on some kind of rear spoiler, probably the ZR1 model, on my Base C6. My only hesitation is should I got with black and match the car's accents now, or do I get a body-color painted one (& I want a no-drill model. Oddly I'm not eager to take a power tool to my car's body and start piercing it with sharp metal tools.)? Brake lights next, then maybe modify the fog lights with a brighter, whiter light (We don't get fog here, but there is almost no amount of extra illumination my aging eyes don't appreciate.), and then some electrical additions, modifications, & upgrades & I figure I do a paint-correction and I'm car show ready. Thanks for the video. Your video production is excellent. I LOVE the overhead shot of the engine bay with the pan showing the before and after. Truly professional level stuff.

Yep, it isn't cheap but you do get high quality. You can't go wrong with the ZR1 style spoiler, just make sure you get it from a quality company, as you might have seen. Thanks so much for the nice comments about my videos! 😎

@@InJasonsGarage ZR1 spoilers differ that much if they come from different retailers? I figured the same big ZR1-Spoiler-Manufacturer (ZR1 Spoilers R Us? Acme ZR1 Spoilers?) was stamping them out like keys, that they were all the same (I mean, how big is the market? How many Corvette owners are there really? And what subset of those owners want ZR1 spoilers, and what subset of those can actually install them themselves? I figured total market was like 15 dudes.) and different retailers just put their name and markup on them. Darn it. You've ruined my retail purchasing strategy I'd formulated. Now I've got to actually pay attention, instead of just operating under my normal operating paradigm of "more money than brains." Whose do you recommend?

@@InJasonsGarage You deserve the comments. I wouldn't consider them "nice," more like "honest." Like I said, I call it like I see it, and that pisses a lot of people off. You do impressive work. You probably already realize that, and don't need my validation. Sometimes I'll be a little hyperbolic when being negative just for the humor. Generally I can tell how smart somebody is by how they react to my reaction. Some people "get it" right away. For others, they never do. It's a cross I have to bear. I keep trying to be "average," like everybody else, and I keep failing. It's boring, and it takes forever to do ANYTHING. It isn't natural for me, but I've so much positive reinforcement over the years from really smart effective people that I now just figure I'm he smartest guy in the room. I'm not always, but I tend to assume I am because it keeps happening, over and over. I know I'm not, but those other smart guys must be in the bathroom or on vacation or something. It's a curse. It's better to be lucky than smart. Knowing stuff can be painful too. The more you can do the more people expect you to do stuff. They grow to think that just because you can do a lot that you can do anything. For them all that stuff is on the other side of the fence they categorize as "impossible tasks." For them fixing a car, or a computer, is the same as building a box-girder bridge from L.A. to Tokyo. They know they can't do any of those things. They can't gauge the skill gap between fixing the car and building the bridge. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not fawning over your videos because I'm some retard and it's all just video magic to me. I have IQ points. I've been to a couple of schools. I've done some stuff and been some places and seen some things and had some experiences many might regard as remarkable, and so when I say your videos are good, they really, really are. Life, and my customers, keep telling me that I'm not some idiot that can't figure stuff out. I'd do my own youtube channel, but viewers really want, almost demand, consistency, and if I just started doing videos on everything I do, or can do, the videos would never stop, and it would piss a lot of people off. They'd say "you can't possibly believe you can do the breadth of things you're purporting to with any skill or competency worth watching," and if I pull that off, all those people that can just do one or two of those things will become demoralized, possibly even depressed, or worse, and they'd lash out at me. So that stops me. That, and the fact that I'm really ugly.

I had no idea these engine bay panels existed. Those side walls and how horrible they look from the factory have driven me nuts ever since I bought my C6 GS. I pondered weak and weary for hours about how I could spray paint those areas and my only conclusion was that I'd have to pull the engine. I've done that going back to my C2 days, but NOT today! So, thanks Jason for now giving me/us a solution. Now I'll have to ponder weak & weary about the cost of these panels. 😉 Save the Wave 🙋♂ P.S. I just checked their website and they're out of stock. I guess I'll be saving some money whether I want to or not. 😊
