This is one of my top favorite Idol performances. There was a comment made about the arrangement, but I love it and I think Elliott did a wonderful job. You can tell he really feels the song.

this performance gets better with time. i had just had my third child and was camped out on the couch taking care of my newborn and i looked forward to this show each week-- and to see Elliott advance. He has a gift of taking classics to a new place, making it his own, while still staying true to the songs. this version brings me the comfort of a special time in my life.

Elliot's up there as one of my fave AIdol alumni ever! Season5 is the best in terms of song choices and performances. I remember watching the final three, all three finalists getting an equal share of 33% of the votes. He lost to McPhee & Hicks by just a few points. But hey, look where it landed him! Don't need titles to get success. Am so proud of him! The fact that the him performing with one ear partially deaf, this guy's seriously amazing!!! Been a fan from day one!

This was the classiest season of Idol IMO. Katherine and Paris were amazing at the standards ( If Paris would have stayed Jazzy she would have been great), Elliot has an amazing contemporary voice and Daughtry has a great classic rock voice. They were all amazing technical singers!

I watch this in 2018 and I have to say I really admire him because I don’t know if a lot of people know it but he has diabetes and I think at some point during the competition he had an episode with his diabetes. I can relate because I have two sisters with diabetes and so I can imagine how hard it is to perform under such stress so I give him a lot of credit. Honestly I don’t follow his music but wherever he is I wish him the best and hope that he’s doing well .

This season was the best by far. I love kelly clarkson from season one but Elliot is the best discovery by far from american idol. Amazing voice. I havent watched the last three they have slacked off and now its just a teenybopper moment kind of show where talent is on the backburner to looks.

This performance proves the talent that was in season 5. I'm so disappointed that Taylor Hicks won, though because Elliot was amazing! There was a lot of talent, but for me the top 3 seasons in order are season 6, 4, then either 5 or 7. This season I think is amazing though!

Elliott was great, but by far I still prefer Karen Carpenter's pure interpretation of this song. Karen's voice was called bland by some because she didn't attempt vocal acrobatics or overstyling as Yamin did here. It's that so-called "bland" that I loved. Karen's voice was beautiful in its purity. Her phrasing was so natural and perfect it might sound "bland" to the ear that wants Whitney. Again - just my preference. Elliott is a fantastic singer.

Yeah, i know what you're talkin about. The song was Walk the Line by Johnny Cash that was covered by another band that Daughtry covered. thats a bad mark against him. daughtry still has more commercial appeal right now than Elliott. True R&B singers are rare now a days.
