'American Idol's' Hunter Metts Has a Fan in Ellen

“American Idol” finalist Hunter Metts was recently voted off the show, and Ellen shared that she told judge Katy Perry how much she loves Hunter and she thinks he has a bright future. The aspiring singer also talked about the performance in which he broke down in tears, and how his sister had to quit her job in order for him to compete on the show. He then showed off his skills with a cover of “Skinny Love” by Bon Iver!

It doesn’t make sense to do that. He was eliminated because he had the least number of votes between him and the other remaining contestants. So if they put Hunter back in the competition, he would probably be eliminated the next episode since he historically has had less votes than the contestants still in the competition. Besides, clearly Hunter doesn’t need idol. He is doing great!
