Do you want to become a great public speaker like Shonda Rhimes? Avoid sounding monotone? Are you interested in learning more about American intonation, American rhythm, and stress? Good. This is the day to do that.
Because In this video, we’ll talk about ALL of that as we analyze a TED talk called “My year of saying YES to everything” by the wonderful Shonda Rhimes. This talk is not only great to learn American intonation, but also to inspire you to take action and to dare say YES to things you usually say no to. Especially when it comes to English (and you know what I’m talking about).

This is an awesome lesson. I'm also an English teacher, and a lot of students, even somewhat high level students, have pretty unnatural intonation and rhythm while speaking. This can be really hard to "teach" as it's just something Americans do naturally without really thinking about it. Your lesson explains it so well! Thank you! 👍👍👍

@ezequielgervasio
@ezequielgervasio 5 жыл бұрын
@@excitedaboutlearning1639 I think when someone write in your own language it's because they don't know how to write in English or because they don't have enough confidence at writing in another linguage. I see many comments in many different languages, not just in Portuguese or Spanish.
@alonsofigueroa6173
@alonsofigueroa6173 5 жыл бұрын
Writing in Spanish is not due to lack of confidence or thinking that others would understand ... On February 7, 2018 on a Live, someone commented in another language and you answered in that language, nobody said anything. I think my comment was misinterpreted. You are an inspiration to many people in the world for having learned another language and teaching it. Excuse my words, my respect for people goes beyond. Thank you.

@@alonsofigueroa6173 I've just found it weird that the only non-English comments I tend to see on these videos are either in Spanish or Portuguese. I was genuinely curious to know why this seems to be case. I didn't mean to insult anyone. I'm sorry if it came off the wrong way.
