I think what most people who study Filipino/Tagalog get wrong is sticking rigidly to the language. We Filipinos mix and match our languages. So "pumindot" might be "mag-click".

Hello, I was watching one of binge watching your videos for the 2nd time and I understand that you went to Yonsei (maybe for the winter or summer programme?). I would love to go there when I'm older, I'm 15 now in the UK and would like to study Korean there and/or Media. I would just like to know if you recommend it and if its a nice place to learn for a while as a student?

I'm always curious as to the opinions of people from other countries of Americans, considering how the news seemingly works everywhere and that tends to be "what will get the most hits" so typically you don't get anything positive or at least meaningfully positive. There are plenty of Americans who know other languages and plenty who travel and cause absolutely 0 issues. Almost every student takes a language in high school, (Spanish/German/French tend to be the ones offered) It's a matter of will they continue it once they get to college. I've been to a handful of countries (mostly western Europe) and most of the younger generation know English, but at the same time, it's still the international trade language or at least one of the top ones so it makes sense for them to know it) I do feel learning a language is beneficial for a career in which you know you will interact with locals who speak that language, or at the very least the basics especially if you intend to live in the area in which it's prevalent. I know broken german, and I'm a bit better at figuring it out reading it and I can pick up certain things when listening to a conversation. Spanish I know even less, but the field I'm going into is strictly English unless employed by a US company outside the US (FAA job)
