Finally I found it! I’ve been waiting for a video on this mower I wanted to get. Thank you much for being the first to do it!

I haven’t seen any other videos on this one ether. It’s actually a nice mower too .

I would treat the wood with linseed oil. I have one from the 1970s and after time, the wood gets a rich color to it but not dark and keeps it from splitting. Just put it on and let it dry overnight. Then keep applying every few days until it wont absorb anymore. You'll love the shine and color and it makes it waterproof. Enjoyed this video, might get one. Wish the specs were mentioned like dimensions and weight.

Nice video. Nice seeing them both in action. Thanks!

I yeah love both the them . You should get one and try it out . It gives you a more old school feel

Cut between the two should be the same if both are set up the same and sharp. Sounds like the blades may be a tad too tight to the bed knife. Cool new mowers that look like the old ones from back in the day.

They were but after I used it a couple times it loosened right up . I guess it had to break In .

Back in the 1960's I mowed with a 1940's reel mower. Cast iron with a wooden handle like this one. Extremely heavy.

I’ve owned several old reel mowers. What I’ve learned is that if your blades are nice and sharp and they are sharpened and adjusted correctly they work really well and they’re not hard to push at all . They’re just about as easy as these newer ones, of course the older one are made better and weigh a lot more . But you really don’t wanna let your grass get too tall if you’re gonna use one of these because then it’ll be really hard and take a long time to cut the grass but if you stay on top of it, I think it delivers the best cut.

Thank you. I’ve been interested in this one to replace my 14” Scott’s mower. I’m just wondering if the handle will warp being out in the shed. But like you said, maybe some water seal will help.
@Tristanblair20007 ай бұрын
This is definitely a nice mower with a classic vintage look. And if it’s in a humid environment, I would definitely recommend putting a seal on the handle just in case it does warp. Wouldn’t hurt to put extra protection on it , because I’m not sure if these handles are pre-treated or not I’m gonna assume if they aren’t.

What do you do with cuttings? Do you recommend raking once cut?
@Tristanblair20007 ай бұрын
@@brendaelliott9767 If you want to a reel mower It’s best to month pretty frequently. You really want to cut a little bit off the grass they’re not like your lawnmower if you mow pretty regularly you really don’t even have to rake your grass, but they do make a grass catcher for these mowers.
