In 1910 the jews in Israel had an identical story with locusts instead crickets and storks instead of seagulls. If you want to see it, it's in one of the episodes of the series *_against all odds_* with Michael Greenspan.

As a former Protestant who converted to the LDS faith in 1975, I can testify that the Book of Mormon is true. It’s nice to see the respect given to the LDS church back during this time period. Now, we’re living in a time when good is bad and bad is good, as perpetuated by the liberal media and certain anti Mormon Evangelical groups. I’m now 70 and have been very blessed, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How do you feel about Brigham Young excluding blacks from the blessings that you enjoyed for so long? I’m genuinely and kindly asking
@deboraholsen2504
@deboraholsen2504 7 ай бұрын
@@China-ClayI appreciate your question, but in the meantime, please consider that people of African descent in Brigham Young’s time could be baptized and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost and could be asked to serve in the church with a calling they were given. They could also be the recipient of a blessing given to them by the laying on of hands on their heads by Priesthood holders who had authority to do so. At the time, and until 1978, they could not be ordained to the Priesthood, which is actually a responsibility that worthy men are given. It is actually given to the boys and men so they can bless the lives of those whom they are serving. No Priesthood holder ever gives himself a Priesthood blessing; rather, he must ask another Priesthood holder to perform a blessing for him if he needs a blessing. PS: I don’t hold the Priesthood, either. 😊 I’m actually very glad that only males are ordained to the Priesthood. I feel safe knowing they can bless me, as well as the precious children I have borne. If a husband wants a Priesthood blessing, he must rely on his friends. PPS: Brigham Young was a mighty man and a brave soul who led a huge exodus of heavily persecuted people to the safety of the largely uninhabited Rocky Mountains at the time. The United States government later honored him with a large statue in the Capitol Building and said he was a “great colonizer of the Western United States”.

70 wives ... My word, that stretches Polygamy to Harem, and gives rise to the understanding to the subject being criticized, and the Evangelical Minds accusations. The journeys Religions take, one wonders what they were truly like at the offset. 70 wives ... that stretches even my Liberal Mind.
@cjextreme

I was just thinking, it would take a liberal to believe this. Brigham had 28 wives and 58 children. This was also a time when you could afford multiple wives because there were no taxes. Today, if you can afford a wife you can't afford a home to put her in without at least 2 incomes😊
@davidparker9676
@davidparker9676 7 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if that would be heaven or hell. I can't imagine keeping up with 70 women, much less wives. 56 children is also something I couldn't imagine the demands that would have on a father.

Mark Twain said “I had the will to do it. With the gushing self-sufficiency of youth I was feverish to plunge in headlong and achieve a great reform here--until I saw the Mormon women. Then I was touched. My heart was wiser than my head. It warmed toward these poor, ungainly and pathetically "homely" creatures, and as I turned to hide the generous moisture in my eyes, I said, "No--the man that marries one of them has done an act of Christian charity which entitles him to the kindly applause of mankind, not their harsh censure--and the man that marries sixty of them has done a deed of open-handed generosity so sublime that the nations should stand uncovered in his presence and worship in silence."”😂

Yeah, like the part about joseph smith being a criminal con man polygamist pedophile? That's a big one. Or maybe the fact that the native americans are not jews. We were all taught and testified to know that it was translated from golden plates and now Nelson has confirmed that it was actually a rock in a hat. Just like south park said several years prior. So much dishonesty, lying, and indoctrination. The primary song is called follow the prophet. It repeats 50 something times. I'm glad I got away from all the dishonesty and lying.

You spelled ‘ignorance’ wrong. Many join the church when they hear about the welfare system. When they find out they need to work for it, such as helping to keep the chapels, they nope out….just like you. What kind of service did they want you to do that you felt was beneath you?

@@debbylou5729 Let's see... daily church duties and/or meetings. Couldn't even watch Wizard of Oz once a year on TV (1960s/70s) because of their f'ing weekly sacrament meeting. I had NO F'ING IDEA WHAT SACRAMENT WAS. I did learn 10% tithing when I was paid 10¢ for every gopher I trapped. Our family had meetings all of Sunday, Family home evening on Monday, mutual on Tuesdays, primary on Wednesday, Fast offerings, "volunteer" farm (required), confessions with the pervert bishops... Oh, and that tithing is 10% on your gross, not your net. Stake conferences, televised yearly general conference (they could afford to pay ALL 3 OF THE NETWORKS). The only good thing about general was that we didn't have to suffer regular Sunday school and sacrament meeting ONE F'ING SUNDAY A YEAR. There is a sample. Now YOU TELL ME WHY I SHOULD ANSWER TO YOU. YOU POP UP WITH A COMAND WITH NO CAPITAL TO BEGIN NOR PERIOD TO END. YOU MUST BE IGNORANT ENOUGH TO BELONG TO THAT FU/SEE... KING CULT.
