My uncle was part of a 3 man heavy machine gun team in Okinawa. I guess the M2? They were all killed one by one and he got a medal for manning the gun after the fist 2 men were killed. They were all heroes and the greatest generation

BAR... Variants as used in theater. There are pics of the First Flag raising on Iwo Jima that show a BAR with a front handgrip.. Johnson pics were great..

He didn’t make the stinger. He was the first soldier to test it out on the battlefield on Iwo Jima. He turned into a “Rambo” with that gun.
