I live in a suburb roughly 30 minutes from Boston, and I will never forget that day for as long I live 💔 Being 10 at the time, I had never seen something so horrifying and tragic up until then. At one point, my sister and I even swore we saw one of the suspects walk right by our house, but to this day we’re not sure if it was even him. Rest In Peace to Martin Richard, Lingzi Lu, Krystle Campbell, Sean Collier, and Dennis Simmonds. 🙏🏽

I used to work for a company in downtown Boston that closes every Marathon Monday bc of the crowds so getting to work is a nightmare that day. I remember being at home that Monday and my mother called me practically in tears. She asked if me and my husband were at the finish line and were ok. I had to reassure her that we were both fine and at home. She told me to turn on the TV and I could not believe what I saw, just insane.

I Remember this day vividly my cross country coach, and his wife were both running in the marathon. As soon as we heard about the bombing I'm pretty sure every member of our team reached out to them trying to figure out if they were ok. Phone lines were congested though and they were unreachable for hours. I remember finally getting a text from my teammates saying that they were Ok and not near the bombing

I was a new grad living and working in the Boston area at the time. I always loved watching the Elite runners finish so had posted several photos from the Finish Line to social media that day before heading back to my office. Heard the explosions in the distance but assumed it was someone setting off fireworks. Cell phone service went out for several hours after the explosions in the downtown area so I'll never forget how relieved my family was when they were finally able to get a hold of me. Waking up to military vehicles driving down the empty streets outside later that week felt incredibly surreal. Nobody really knew how long the lockdown was going to go on so I remember just being glued to my TV that day texting friends and family praying they would catch him. May all of the victims continue to rest in heavenly peace.

I was supposed to work in Watertown that Friday morning. Instead our branch closed and I stayed home and watched all the coverage of the manhunt (calling the bombers "men" is stretch). I am glad that one of the forgotten heroes of that day Dun Meng is given his proper due. Every time I am on Memorial Drive and see those two gas stations I can't believe how ballsy it was of him to escape and run over to the other station across the street. This thing focuses more on the Boston PD and FBI and how they came together to catch these two maniacs, but plenty of regular people like Meng were heroes too.

Then the more it went on we all just stopped working and started listening. Then everyone's phones started blowing up. I happen to be near the finish line cooling off. The bang sounded just like a tall stack of whatever that was suddenly knocked over. As an unregistered runner and in the right place and right time, I was able to help at the 2d blast sight. I was 1 of the crazy dudes that ran with a light day pack that had things like t-shirts, hats, some water, etc. Being in the MA National Guard, I was always trained up for this but never considered it to be a reality.

I just watched this tonight and oh my gosh.. It's so good! So well put-together. I hate to say that coming from a "show", but I always wondered if we'd ever get a glimpse of what happened per timeline and it was really eye opening. I cried throughout the entire thing, for what everyone had went through. The scenes with the bombers and the recreation of events, gave me chills. And other things that were so unbelievably horrible. What the victims endured, what the police were up against, etc. it's the stuff of nightmares. So powerful. Mr. Meng, who escaped to contact the police, is a frickin hero; who knows what could've happened had they managed to get away. All I can say is, God Bless the people of Boston and I'm sorry for this tragedy. I hope the victims' families were able to find some healing. May peace and love be with you all.❤️

I was working for MIT on the weekends when this event happened. I would pass by the back area on campus which would end up being the area where the MIT officer’s life ends. I remember when Cambridge was on lock down when they were looking for the guy. I looked out of my apartment and there was no car or anyone on the street. I was in school that Monday, here in Puerto Rico. I mainly remember getting angry at my classmates because immediately after our teacher showed us the news footage, and most of my classmates began telling jokes, making bets on whether it was "the terrorists" or "North Korea"... I was very little but I remember when this happened I didn’t fully understand but I remember clearly watching the footage of the man with the white hat walking away from the bombing and I remember watching the footage of the bomb going off clear as day I was about seven years old at the time and I remember sitting in my living room with my grandmother and seeing the pictures after they were released and for the week or so that followed continually seeing the video of the bomb going off. Seven years old I’m turning 17 in June, we were learning about this case in a class of mine at my school and my teacher played some of the video and we all were stunned we all started to remember it and just kinda stared watching. The memories of watching it played back in our minds I even did the sign of the cross which I only did once in school before when we were watching footage of the war in Ukraine.

My coworker showed me news footage online and I realized it was some sort of bombs went off near the finishing line. We have a few coworkers volunteered for the marathon. I lived in the town where they had the shootout and eventually found the younger brother in the boat. That house is literally only a few blocks from where I lived and you can still see the bullet holes in some of the houses. A lot of residents were forced to LEAVE their homes with only the clothes on their backs as SWAT teams came in with rifles loaded. We were locked down, told to shelter in place and it was absolutely frightening. You will never truly understand the "terror" part of Terrorism until it comes to your town, and happens to you.

Ohhh, this trailer brought back memories. May the dead RIP, may the injured find peace, and may the terrorists BIH! One woman was so plagued by her injures that she was sent to Walter Reed hospital because civilian doctors are not used to dealing with IED damage. She and her husband worried the Soldiers would resent her for being a civilian. But instead our troops empathized and were supportive of her🥲. I remember the chaos when when that last suspect was found in that boat. The owner of that boat loved it like a child. Let’s just say……..after over 100 bullets it was not ever going to be sea worthy any more. 😖 That, and the blood everywhere from the damned terrorist. Pity he survived.

The intensity was so much in Boston on searching the perpetrators, because everything initially changed after 9/11 and no one was gonna get loose on this. Awesome job to the FBI and RIP to victims who lost their lives that day! 😢

Feel like this is a sign from God! I just visited Boston for the first time last week and it was beautiful! Passed by this one store that caught my eye because of the countdown on the window, “Marathon Sports” is the little store. Went and asked some hard working men that were in front of it and asked them what it was for! Sure enough it was for the Marathon that’s upcoming and one of them shared that the spot where we were standing at is where one of the bombs went off, and sure enough I looked and there was a small memorial by the road. Beautiful beautiful city, want to run the Marathon one day! May all the souls who were lost rest in peace ❤️
