both of my parents learned to speak, read, and write Arabic in defense language school. my dad was picked up by a contracting company working with the government and spent half my childhood overseas. He’s talked about being able to speak with Sheikh Mohammed while he was in custody in 2003. he didn’t try to hide anything he had done, he was eager to talk about the lengths Al-Queda had taken to carry out the attacks. the men were fully funded and lived in the US for several months, even took flying lessons in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota. People credit bin Laden with the attacks, but it was Sheikh Mohammed that orchestrated the whole thing. I’m glad that distinction was made in this video edit: Sheikh Mohammed had admitted that he was angry the towers had imploded rather than toppled over. he had given specific instructions to hit the top of the towers anticipating that they would fall sideways.

A quick comment about America’s interrogation techniques. When Abu Zubaydah was captured, it was the FBI’s Arabic speaking Ali Soufan who first questioned him. Using respect and traditional questioning skills, Soufan learnt key information from Zubaydah which ended up being consequential in the long investigation into finding OBL. I still remember it being a school night and staying up late to see what the President was going to announce and being totally surprised when he announced they killed him. Thanks! This one together with the Nebula video took about one and a half months. Some videos are quicker, this one was just very 3D animation heavy
