Thanks for sharing that last pert where Mark was speaking. I believe it is wrong to speak ill of the dead, especially right after they have passed. My own father passes extremely suddenly at the age of 68. I watched my entire family pass away except for on brother in the last 15 years or so. It got me reevaluating what was important in my life and why I was very unhappy and dissatisfied with my life. I quit my job, got a divorce, sold gave away and threw away everything I had, and I moved to cebu with two suitcases and a backpack, never having been there before. I am happier here overall. Mark made the choices that were right for him and I don't think there is any point in criticizing the choices he made. We all do what we feel we have to do. The people who feel the need to criticize and judge Mark's choices should instead concentrates on their own lives and choices. I think Mark did ok in the time he had available to him and he left behind a legacy of children and lots of videos on KZbin. Lots of guys don't even leave behind that. I saw on another channel someone who said that the Philippines is heaven's waiting room. Let's all concentrate on living our own best lives instead of worrying about the life of a man who is gone and criticizing his choices. That book is already written and published. RIP Mark.

Thank you for making this video. I thought I saw them all about Mark but this is the best one, and most honest. I don't have any problem with others not shutting off their monetization on their videos saying wonderful things about Mark and how he will be missed. Who cares what little $ they would make, and so what? If I were to pass away, I wouldn't want radio silence on my death either...I'd want everybody to say nice things about me just like they are about Mark...it's a h-u-g-e compliment to him, and I don't think that they are a-l-l just doing it for the money. Just because people didn't visit him in the hospital and weren't his best friend in the whole wide world doesn't mean they didn't think he was a nice decent guy who impressively pulled himself up from rock bottom, after a divorce and being screwed out of an art cruise deal that he brokered by his friend, and eventually, thru hard work, perseverance, and a little luck, made a name and a life for himself in the Philippines. I believe he was the happiest in his life, in that rental by the ocean, where he would go swimming frequently (he said) and with a woman who loved him (people get married for various reasons...doesn't mean they don't love each other too) and a new baby (for his wife, who wanted a child badly and he felt it was cruel & unfair to deny her children just bc she was with him). He married Jen when most would have just kept her as a girlfriend (or circulated thru girlfriends), and supported her and the baby so she could do what she wanted...be a stay-at-home mom, which a lot of Filipinas don't get to do, I hear. He made sure that his wife & child would have all the benefits they were entitled to as his wife & child, jumping thru so many complicated and at times frustrating hoops to register Jen & Rogan as his wife & child, getting at least Rogan a SSN, and making him a dual citizen of the U.S. & Philippines...all of which he covered on his KZbin channel. The last I heard he had ordered a passport for Rogan, and he did what he could for, as Jen. Even tho Jen doesn't qualify for widow's social security benefits, the last I heard was Rogan was getting SS $ when Mark was still alive (he mentioned it bc there was some controversy about that, but as he said, he paid his taxes all his working life, from a teenager to even recently paying income taxes on his KZbin channel), and I heard definitely will qualify for SS child survivor benefits off of Mark's social security. So yes, for all those that like to write that he was broke, he was only broke by U.S. standards...by Philippine standards, he was fairly wealthy in $ and in relationships. We all felt that we knew him thru his KZbin channel. He advocated supporting your Filipino girlfriend/wife and her family and why you should do so, as well as getting along with them (Jen's mom would babysit frequently for them). He advocated for sharing information about your passwords, logins, and where your money is to your trusted wife or GF in case something would happen to you. He was a decent guy, and he advocated for ex-pats to do the decent thing regarding the Filipinas. I didn't know him personally but thru his KZbin channel, I think we all thought we did...well enough, at least. I understand he had a daughter who is mentally challenged (his ex-wife wanted to move to England just before the divorce bc the place in the U.S. they lived had zero help for her, and England did) and a son. I don't know his relationship with them, but I recall him saying that, when they shared custody after the divorce, with him still in the U.S., he would see his kids for a whole month and he said that it was sooooo painful whenever they had to leave. Sounds like a good dad who loved his kids to me. Also this is not the first time I've heard to beware of other ex-pats, that they are not necessarily your friends. Mark just didn't seem like the heavy drinking, bar hopping sort of guy...the way he described the one and only altercation he was being sued for, the guy had it coming, saying inappropriate things about him and his wife...a man can only take so much. Violence is never the answer, and I've never been in a physical fight (as a female) myself, but if we're honest here, there is at least one person in everyone's life whom you would love to slug, and they would deserve it too. (LOL) I almost admire him for standing up for himself and his wife, and if he was sued for that...well, it almost seems OK and worth it. No one is an angel here, but everybody has a right to defend themselves. I am always really astonished by the mean things grownups will say about someone as soon as they die or sometimes just leave the room. (smh) I've always said that the best compliment you can give a person is saying, when referring to them, that they were a good man (person). Mark was a good man. R.I.P. and thank you for reading thru all of this. My condolences to his family and friends, to Jen & little Rogan, and Mark's brother & mom, whom he was very close to also. You are right...Jen & Rogan will be just fine. I wish them well.

I could not get a word in or introduce myself. When it became obvious that I was not going to kiss his ring, he became visibly angry, sighing audibly, not hiding looking at his watch. He asked my friend who I was, totally ignoring me. When he started loudly tapping his foot, I looked at my friend, threw my hands in the air and walked off. To me, at least, the man came off as a pompous jerk. I do not see what the fuss about his death is all about. I feel bad for his widow. Never knew this Mark guy. KZbin introduced me to these random videos on his tragedy. Including this video. I will say, I hope he passed away a happy man. Despite his controversies he had over there, I hope moving to the Philippines and having married someone he wanted, and having a child brought him that happiness. And in your case, I'm sorry for your health issues. I hope you can hang in there and get better.

A woman with a baby is not the strongest candidate to remarry. I am one of Marks subscribers, and he made tons of interesting videos. He is an inspiratiion to many. A friend of mine, an expat here, is getting ready to start an expat health channel. Most can do a lot better taking care of themselves, but it can be challenging here in the Philippines. Many things contribute. The hot humid heat, makes it discouraging to exercise. A lot of the food available is poor quality, the lack of decent medical facilities, etc. However, there is easy access to basic meds, and a lot of workarounds available. I will try to help my friend get it started.

I followed Mark from his first interview with Paul and the very beginning of his channel. I admired how he grew his platform over time. However, we cannot ignore the surprising and disturbing behavior he exhibited. Mark sucker-punched Dexter, a frail elderly man, and then tried to gouge his eyes out-an act of shocking violence, allegedly over remarks made in a coffee shop. Additionally, Mark accused Elliot Eastman, a 26-year-old American, of faking his kidnapping. Tragically, we later learned the kidnapping was real, and Elliot lost his life. Mark never apologized for any of his actions, leaving many viewers understandably upset. Despite these controversies, may Mark rest in peace-he will be missed.

At my age you realize they're just being fake and they're doing it to be socially accepted as feeling sad for those who pass on. Mark lost a lot of people's friendship after he got into that fight at that restaurant and it was said by many filipinos he was rude wherever he went. I just really feel bad for all of his family and that he had no finances. But the same thing could happen to me. I have poor health and i don't have a lot of money either.
