Wonderful program! The Ginger in the red plaid dress had a golden book with her on the cover and a paper doll inside! The Judd's did a really good book about hard plastic dolls- they show the arm hooks and details to ID the different 8" dolls. I have a birthday picture of me where I got a Muffie for a gift! Loved her!

Its easy to become addicted to these dolls as an adult collector, especially if your parents were poor and you never had any toys or dolls. 😢

Yes we all can have a do over !

I agree totally. We didn't have the toys bestowed on us, as happened in the subsequent decades. Our dolls lasted for years. In my family we received gifts only at birthdays and Christmas. But my parents didn't have toys in their childhoods either.

Sh, don't tell! I was so jealous of my cousins who had lovely little 8" dolls of so many makes and with vast wardrobes of factory and handmade clothing. We little 1950s British girls only had baby and toddler dolls with grandma knitted clothes, which could never be as relistic as those beautiful cloth dresses in pretty colours.

Nice! I bought an 8 inch hard plastic doll at goodwill who unfortunately had lost all her hair and had her makeup paint melted off. She’s unmarked but has a leg-walking/head swiveling mechanism. She definitely has a Virga face though!
