Loving the Prince T-Shirt. Brocky is an Aussie Icon. We lost Brocky the same week as Steve Irwin left us. It was a very hard week.

Co-driver was introduced because Bathurst was extended to 1000km which makes race length about 6 hours. They switch drivers out to avoid fatigue at a pit stop. Each driver has to drive minimum of 1/3 race (54 laps), so normally lead driver will start, swap out for middle of race, then jump back in for the last couple of hours. THe video showed Brocky racing rally, a different format of racing to Supercars also, maybe another sport for you to check

Peter Brock or known as 'broky' down under was a 100% Holden man and 9 times winner of the Bathurst 1000. There was a strong rivalry between Holden and Ford but I think I speak for most fans, didn't matter what side of the fence your on. Broky is a well respected legend of the sport. I'm 100% a Ford man but still have plenty of respect for Brocky.

Was a sad day, had a mate that was selling his VK Brock Holden Commodore the week Brock died, guy who was buying it rang him and said, i will understand if you want to raise the price now that he has passed.. 1979 Bathurst last lap video is one of the best to watch. his most famous race and why A9X Holden Torana is one of most popular in Australia. Peter Brock king of the mountain. King of mount Panarama. Peter Brock not only raced cars he owned and built them with HDT Holden Dealer Team. Built HDT models of Holden Commodores and a few odd models also until the VL Commodore Polariser system Holden dropped him. Funny thing VL Commodore never would of had a Holden V8 if was not for Peter Brock putting one in it as Holden had no intention of doing it..

Brocky was not only a great driver, in his early days, his movie star good looks made him extremely marketable, therefore he was popular with car racing fans & non fans alike.

Great personalities in sports makes legends as much as their skill because I believe fans have as much to do with carrying their careers along. It also allows for fans to be more patient when they fall into a "slump" When some of the sports media ask "Why do fans say we won" or "we lost" when the fans "arent a part of the team." To me, if fans were not a part of the team, then why wld home field advantage matter?🤔 Thanks Cullen👍😎

Someone suggested the wet Bathurst lap, another obvious one is when he sets the fastest lap of the race, and the lap record, on the last lap in the A9X (1979). Another classic would be him casually talking to the commentary team during the race via an onboard cam, his elbow sort of resting out the window. Keeping in mind this is one of the most technical, unforgiving circuits in the world. Peter grew up in a town just across the range from me. He had attended a nearby historic hillclimb event called Rob Roy. Blokes were literally throwing their car keys to him, and he took up a Torana XU1 and an SLR 5000... and fanged it of course.

There are many videos of Peter Brock racing on Bathurst and many other tracks in Australia, any would be worth a reaction, especially those where he talks to the racecam. He was always cool as a cucumber behind the wheel.

There's two things with Peter Brock that made him stand out from the rest. He was the outright best and nursing a sick car to either win or get a podium and other is that he was so good in wet conditions.

Love the Brisbane Lions jerseys mate, being from and living in Brisbane good to see those Jersey's on the otherside of the world in your house. RIP Brocky. Legend of a driver. Also built some awesum cars under HDT (Holden Dealer Team) name, basically took road cars we drive around every day and turned them into awesum muscle cars. Google HDT cars. 🤙

It is pleasing to see a reactor go to the trouble of actually researching a video. Some reactors don't really have any interest in what they see. They only ask questions for viewers to answer, and then can't be bothered answering viewers comments anyway. 👍👍

When I have an interest in a sport, Im going all in. I pride myself in how much I know in the sports Ive been watching my entire life(Basketball,Baseball, Football and Hockey) So when I see how much pride fans have in their beloved sport (such as V8 supercars in this scenario.) I bring the same respect that I wld expect someone new to my sports wld bring and thats diving in and learning it! Lastly, I hear ya on most reactors not responding to comments. Im not sure what their reasons are, but I answer as many as I can. However, there are times when I dont respond and its basically because some might feel left out as if their comments werent as important as the ones that got a response. Its a fine line and I hope you understand. Thanks for watching and commenting JayWhy1964!👍😎

Bathurst race has a Co Driver so that they take it in shifts - only one driver in the car at a time. There are mandatory driver changes and each driver must do a set minimum of laps.

Thanks for explaining the co-driver as only one in the car at a time. At first I thought it was strange because its adding weight to the car, but now it makes sense. Thanks Notric👍😎

Alan Moffat won the last Bathurst that allowed a single driver......after 5 hours of non stop driving, the heat and perspiration had romoved most of the skin on both his hands and fingers. He was in a lot of pain grabbing the wheel and changing gears. F1 drivers are buggerd after 2 hours.....imagine racing hard at Bathurst for 5 + hours in a heavy family car without power steering.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIa3lGWJaNlrqbMfeature=shared 1986 This is another good one. This was the year that Moffat was Brock's co-driver. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZvGgWmjq5V5bq8si=Q-LQ1B_FJRKpCGt7 This is the link to the race highlights 1986 Brock was my favourite driver. Before that it was Nikki Lauda. Also my mother used to have a Holden Monaro. So she had a cool car when I was little. Brock drove the Monaro and then the Torana. In 1986 it was the Holden Commodore. #05 I loved Dale Earnhart #3 also. They had a similar personality Peter Brock and Earnhart. Peter Brock had actually retired from the Supercar racing. He was doing the Targa Rally for the fun. But he was taking it seriously. Rally driving is very dangerous. The New Zealand champion rally driver, Graham "Possum" Bourne lost his life in a crash. All motor racing is dangerous, but it is better for driver safety now then in the past. Especially the open wheel racing in the 1960s & 1970s. 😮

A co driver isn't like rally They're not in vechiles with driver But what they do is driver changes maditory Just like 24 hr racing Where over period of the race they have to change driver's Rally racing they have co driver's who read out the course hazards Which way corner coming is and it sharpness and any obstacles Rally speed way on steroids is best way of explaining if you haven't seen before You also need to look at isle of man racing most deadliest motor race in the world All sports have their own unique skills and need to respect them for what they are as individual sports Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍

I'll never forget where I was the day I learned Brocky had passed. That's how much he meant to so many. I was at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, drinking beer and playing pool. The report came over the news. This bloke, who I barely knew said, 'who gives a shit?' I felt like using the cue for something other than playing pool.
